Motorola Razr Fold debuts as the company's first book-style foldable, and it's gunning for Samsung

Motorola has revealed its first book-style foldable at CES 2026, the Razr Fold. And this marks a shift for a brand that's built its recent reputation on flip-style clamshell phones. The device features an 8.1-inch 2K main display and a 6.6-inch external display, and goes head-to-head with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google's Pixel 10 Pro Fold—and in some ways, actually beating them on specs. The Razr Fold is expected to launch this summer but it hasn't released all of its specs. This article will discuss everything about the Motorola Razr Fold, including its available specifications.

      Motorola Razr Fold Overview

      Design and Display

From the outside, the Razr Fold presents a slim, striking silhouette anchored by a 6.6-inch external display. This outer screen behaves much like a standard flagship when closed. When unfolded, you get an 8.09-inch LTPO inner display with 2K, which is slightly larger than Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google's Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which both top out around 7.6-8 inches.

The device comes in two colors: Pantone Blackened Blue with a vegan leather matte finish, and Pantone Lily White with a sleek, silky texture.  The big question here is durability. Motorola's been making flip phones for five years now, so they've got experience with hinges, but book-style foldables are a different beast. They're larger, heavier, and the hinge mechanisms take more abuse. Certain leaks tell us that a sleeker profile compared to some bulkier book-style foldables, and the build quality is expected to incorporate premium materials, including water resistance and durable hinges. We'll have to wait for review units to see if Motorola's pulled it off.

      Camera System

The Razr Fold features a triple 50MP rear camera system. A main sensor using Sony's LYTIA sensor, a 50MP ultrawide/macro lens, and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera.

Motorola built the camera system around Sony's LYTIA sensor to improve brightness and color accuracy, and the device supports Dolby Vision video recording and advanced stabilization. For selfies, there's a 32MP camera on the external display and a 20MP camera on the internal display.

      Stylus Support and AI Features

Considering it features a large internal screen, the Razr Fold gets Moto Pen Ultra stylus support. The Moto Pen Ultra is a pressure-sensitive stylus with tilt detection that comes with a carrying case that doubles as a battery. It enables AI capabilities like handwriting beautification and Sketch to Image. But unlike Samsung's S Pen, the Moto Pen Ultra doesn't slot into the phone—you'll need to carry it separately.

The foldable includes Moto AI features like Catch Me Up and Next Move, and may also get Motorola Qira, which, by the way, is the company's upgraded AI solution. They didn't really reveal what all these features are about. They also didn't reveal anything about the chipset, memory, battery, or other important details.

Motorola Razr Fold Price in Nepal and Availability

Since it has not been officially released yet, the pricing is also unknown for now. However, the Razr Fold could be priced starting around $1,500. The Razr Fold is expected to launch this summer, though Motorola hasn't confirmed specific dates or regional availability yet.
