Buy NTC eSIM on Khalti Overview:
What is an eSIM?
Before proceeding, let's have a brief overview of eSIM. In case you didnt know, eSIM, short for Embedded SIM, is a digital alternative to the traditional SIM card that lets you access mobile network services without inserting a physical card into your phone. Instead of swapping SIMs, your telecom operator activates the connection remotely and assigns you a mobile number along with network services. Since eSIM data is rewritable, switching to a different carrier is simple and can usually be done without visiting a store. This technology adheres to global GSMA standards, ensuring worldwide compatibility and adoption.

When did NTC start eSIM service?
Nepal Telecom, the state-backed telco, commenced the eSIM service on Bhadra 21, 2079 (September 16, 2022). Initially, it only allocated 50 units for distribution from the Sundhara counter, while now it's available outside the Kathmandu valley as well.
