The OnePlus 11 (review) went official some months ago with top of the lines specs like a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and LTPO3 fluid display. Although it features a capable triple camera setup, the quality is not there yet against the likes of iPhone 14 Pro (review) and Galaxy S23 Ultra (review). Well, things might improve with the upcoming OnePlus 12 in the camera department. Okay, let’s get into the rumors surrounding OnePlus 12 in this article.
OnePlus 12 Rumors:
Yogesh Brar, an Indian tipster on Twitter, tweeted regarding the key improvements on OnePlus 12. As per the tweet, the Chinese brand is aiming to provide a full-fledged flagship experience in the upcoming flagship phone.

1-inch sensor and a periscope camera
As per rumors, OnePlus 12 will primarily focus on cameras. The flagship phone will likely house a 1-inch sensor, allowing more light for better photography with natural bokeh. Early speculations suggest the phone might get a Sony IMX989 sensor, found on the likes of Xiaomi 13 Pro (review) and OPPO Find X6 Pro.
The main camera is surely getting an upgrade this time, while OnePlus 12 is also likely to up its game in terms of zoom photography. The leaked renders reveal the addition of a periscope camera alongside two other sensors. This is a notable improvement over the OnePlus 11, which only featured a traditional telephoto camera.

Next-gen display
The leaks by SmartPrix and OnLeaks showcase the design aspect of the OnePlus 12. The handset appears to have a similar design to the previous model, featuring a sandstone finish rear panel and a familiar camera island. However, there are noticeable differences. The front display will probably have a hole-punch cutout at the top center, a departure from the top left corner placement in the OnePlus 11.
The bezels surrounding the screen also seem to be slimmer, providing a more immersive viewing experience. There is also speculation that the device will feature a stunning 2K resolution OLED display. Also, we will probably get to see it with the curved edges.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
The flagship phones from OnePlus always debut with the latest Snapdragon chipsets. So, it’s safe to assume that the OnePlus 12 will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This unannounced Qualcomm chip will reportedly include one prime Cortex-X4 CPU core at up to 3.7 GHz, paired with five performance and two efficiency cores.
Faster charging
The company is also rumored to improve the charging speed this time. Compared to 100W fast charging on its predecessor, OnePlus 12 might bring back 150W fast charging tech from the OnePlus 10T instead, along with 50W wireless charging.
OnePlus 12 Launch and Availability
There are rumors that the OnePlus 12 smartphone will launch this December in China. Besides this, there’s no word on its pricing details, but we’ll update this article when more info surfaces online.
