Oppo flagships have become rather elusive, confined within its home country recently. However, that does not mean we will stop following what’s going on with it. That’s exactly what we are doing in this article! Here are all the recent developments happening with the Oppo Find X8 series.

Magnetic Accessories
The latest rumors are talking about the upcoming OPPO Find X7 Series to support magnetic accessories. Besides the physical camera button, it will support an ecosystem of accessories and chargers from Oppo. The news arrives a video posted by an official OPPO executive on Weibo.
In the video, a MagSafe-like power bank is charging both OPPO and iPhones, showing the common functionality between OPPO and Apple phones. The last-gen OPPO phones supported 50W of wireless charging and it is likely to continue with this new-gen as well. News has it that this new move has to do with the adoption of EV cars in China which is over 50%. Such vehicles have a built-in wireless charging dock.
Three OPPO-teers?
Let’s put aside the bad pun I just made. The upcoming Oppo flagship will supposedly have three members. Historically, the Oppo Find X series has been pretty inconsistent with its offerings. Initially, it launched as a single-unit series, but the number quickly went up. Later on, the series became a mix of flagship, semi-flagship, and premium midrange offerings.
While things were starting to get convoluted, Oppo streamlined the Find X series to be a flagship-only offering starting from Find X6. It included the base model and a Pro model. This continued to X7 as well with a base model and an Ultra model. This time around, Oppo has decided to switch gears and offer three variations of the Find X8: a base variant, a Pro model, and an Ultra option. All of them will be flagship offerings.
What do we know?
Display and aesthetics
Digital Chat Station, one of the most reliable leakers seems to have gotten some key information on the Oppo Find X8 series’ design. They post that the smaller option will be available in Black, White, Blue, and Pink. Meanwhile, the larger phones will be the same colours, except for Pink. It is unclear if the larger phone refers to the Pro or the Ultra model. The leaker also mentions that Oppo is favouring glass for the back panel, replacing the leather we saw on its predecessor.
The leaker also posted the details on the phone’s screen a few days ago on Weibo. They say both the base and Pro models will come with 1.5K screens. The former apparently has flat edges, while the latter will be micro-curved. Likewise, the screen on the Ultra model will be micro-curved too, but with a higher 2K resolution. DCS also reveals that the display on the Oppo Find X8 series will be BOE 8T LTPO OLED with improved brightness and PWM dimming.
Processor
In the same post, the leaker mentions that these phones would be rocking yet unreleased flagship processors from Qualcomm as well as MediaTek. Sources speculate the base and Pro model to go with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400, while the Oppo Find X8 Ultra will opt for Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
Other than that, we can expect the phone to equip a storage and memory combo of up to 16GB + 1TB since that is the current industry standard. The Ultra model might step the game up with 24GB, but we cannot say for certain.

Cameras
Oppo Find X7 Ultra went heavy with the cameras, and it seems the trend will continue on the Find X8 Ultra. As per DCS, the upcoming Oppo flagship will also sport four units, two of which will be periscope lenses.
Furthermore, the tipster mentions that there will be no 50MP Sony IMX858 sensor with 6x optical zoom this time. Instead, there could be a much higher resolution sensor — even exceeding 200MP. This could potentially take the sensor’s optical zooming capability even further. We will have to wait and see what follows.
Both Oppo Find X8 and X8 Pro will apparently rock a periscope lens. But we do not know anything about the sensor or resolution as of now. We can expect it to be a Hasselblad partnership, and be equally good.
Battery
One of the most detailed leaks about the Oppo Find X8 series has been of its batteries. Once again, courtesy of Digital Chat Station. As per the leaker, the following will be the battery capacity on the Oppo Find X8 series:

The higher battery capacity on these phones is all thanks to Glacier battery technology. It uses silicon carbon in its anode which has a higher energy density than traditional graphite. Furthermore, it will also be dual-cell and support charging speeds of up to 100W.
OPPO Find X8 Series Launch and Availability
The Oppo Find X8 and X8 Pro are set to make a debut on October 21 or somewhere later as per rumors. Meanwhile, there is no info on the X8 Ultra model’s expected release date.
