DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Overview
Design and Display
The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P retains a compact, pocket-friendly design with a 3-axis mechanical gimbal and a 2-inch OLED touchscreen. The screen provides a larger viewing area for framing shots, switching between settings, and navigating the camera, while the compact body makes it convenient to carry for travel and everyday shooting.
On the camera head, the 20mm wide-angle and 60mm medium-telephoto lenses sit side-by-side and can be switched electronically through the touchscreen or the included Frame Tap remote. Meanwhile, the gimbal can rotate the camera between horizontal and vertical orientations, giving creators more flexibility when shooting different types of content.
Camera and Performance
The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P uses a dual-camera setup with a 1-inch CMOS wide-angle sensor and a 1/1.28-inch medium-telephoto sensor. The two lenses provide 20mm and 60mm-equivalent focal lengths, giving you the flexibility to switch between wider shots and closer perspectives without physically changing lenses. The wide-angle camera also offers up to 17 stops of dynamic range and supports 10-bit D-Log 2, which should provide more detail in challenging lighting and greater flexibility when color grading.
For video, the camera can record up to 4K at 240fps with the wide-angle lens and 4K at 200fps with the medium-telephoto lens, allowing you to capture high-resolution slow-motion footage. It also features 3-axis mechanical stabilization and ActiveTrack, which can keep a subject in frame while shooting. As a result, the Pocket 4P is well-suited to handheld vlogging, travel videos, and other situations where maintaining stable footage and consistent subject framing is important.
Battery and Storage
The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P packs a 1,545mAh battery with up to 210 minutes of operating time under DJI's specified test conditions. For quicker top-ups, it supports 65W charging, taking the battery from 0% to 80% in around 18 minutes and to full capacity in approximately 32 minutes. Actual battery life can vary depending on the recording resolution, frame rate, display use, and other settings.
For storage, the camera comes with 103GB of built-in storage, which is useful if you don't have a memory card on hand. Interestingly, DJI states that this internal storage can hold around 210 minutes of 4K/60fps footage, although higher frame rates and other recording settings can reduce the available recording time.
