iPhone 18 Pro Max Overview
Design and Display
Starting with the design, the iPhone 18 Pro Max features an aluminum frame with a premium titanium band around the outer edges, paired with a color-matched glass back and Ceramic Shield protection. It measures 163.4 × 78 × 8.75mm and weighs 249 grams. The phone also carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It is available in Black, Silver, Glacier, and Burgundy finishes.
On the front, it features a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 2868 × 1320 resolution and 460ppi. The panel supports ProMotion with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, along with Always-On display, HDR, True Tone, and up to 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness. It also features the redesigned Dynamic Island, which can display up to three Live Activities at once.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is powered by Apple's new A20 Pro chipset, paired with a next-generation vapor chamber that helps manage heat and deliver the highest sustained performance yet on an iPhone, according to Apple. The chip also brings improved efficiency for demanding tasks such as gaming, video editing, and AI workloads.
On the software side, the iPhone 18 Pro Max runs iOS 27, which introduces the new Liquid Glass design along with system-level improvements. It also brings the next generation of Apple Intelligence and the new Siri AI, with features such as personal context and on-screen awareness designed to make Siri more capable, conversational, and useful in everyday tasks.
Camera and Battery
For photography, the iPhone 18 Pro Max features a triple 48MP Pro Fusion camera system, led by a new 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture for greater control over depth of field and low-light shots. The system also includes a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide and 48MP Fusion Telephoto camera with up to 8x optical-quality zoom. Its larger battery works alongside the efficiency improvements of the A20 Pro chip, while fast wired charging can provide up to 7 hours of video playback with just 5 minutes of charging.
