Design and Display

In terms of design, the Lenovo Legion 5a features a metal lid and a polycarbonate body. The laptop weighs 1.87 kg and measures 244.5mm in thickness, making it more portable. We get Eclipse Black as the only color option in Nepal for now.

And for my favorite part of this laptop, i.e., its display. Here we get a 15.3-inch OLED WQXGA (2560x1600p) panel with all the flagship-level features, including 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, a smooth 165Hz refresh rate, a bright 500-nit display, and a VESA True Black 1100 Certified panel. So yeah, if you love playing fast-paced games or want a perfect display for creative tasks like video or photo editing, you can't go wrong with it.

Performance and Memory

For performance, the all-new Legion 5a ships with AMD’s new Gorgon Point processor, which is a refreshed version of the older Ryzen Strix Point processor. The variant arriving in Nepal is the AMD Ryzen AI 9 465, which features AMD's latest Zen 5 cores. Specifically, this CPU has 10 cores and 20 threads with a max boost clock of 5.0 GHz. This CPU is excellent for running demanding applications without any lag whatsoever, and as these chips are part of the Ryzen AI 400 series, they come with a dedicated NPU named “AMD Ryzen AI” with an impressive 73 TOPS of performance.

For the GPU, Legion 5a ships with NVIDIA's latest RTX 5060, which has 8GB of GDDR7 memory and up to 115W of TGP. That said, 8GB of VRAM can be limited for some users in the long run, especially if you love playing newer games. For memory, it includes 32GB of DDR5 RAM running at 5600 MT/s and a 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD.  

Battery and extras

For battery, we get a pretty decent-sized 80Wh battery. Legion 5a also brings a 24-zone RGB keyboard, a 5MP IR webcam with Windows Hello, and 2 Stereo speakers. For ports, we get two USB 4 (Type-C), three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, one HDMI 2.1, one 3.5mm audio jack, and one RJ-45 Ethernet.
