Nothing Ear (stick)

3.4Expert Score

This is the second earbud from the new emerging company founded by Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus. The Nothing Ear (stick) is a transparent earbud with a cylindrical stem, unlike the slab-like design of the Ear (1). It is semi-in-ear, weighs 4.4 grams, and features IP54-rated water and dust protection. The earbuds have 12.6-mm drivers with PEN and PU and Nothing’s Bass Lock technology. The Ear (stick) also ships with three microphones for clear voice technology.

Nothing Ear (stick) Overview:

Transparent Design

The design is what makes the Nothing brand stand out. And the same thing is true for the stick. A similar transparent design has been adopted by the Ear (stick). However, the thing that is different is the cylindrical stem, compared to the slab-like design from Ear (1).

Another thing vast from the first buds is that the buds are semi-in-ear rather than an in-ear fit. This means it lacks support for the ANC. Additionally, each bud only weighs 4.4 grams. And IP54-rated water/dust protection keeps your buds out of trouble.

You are out of luck, though, when it comes to color options. The only color is white with a transparent stem with black inside.

On the audio side, you are met with 12.6-mm drivers tuned in their own labs. The diaphragm consists of Polyethylene naphthalate and Polyurethane. Ear (Stick) also delivers Nothing’s Bass Lock technology, which recognizes bass loss as you wear the earbuds and adjusts the equalizer setting to the perfect level to deliver punchy depth.

On the other hand, three microphones on each earbud are enough to cancel out the surrounding noises when you’re on a call. Nothing calls it Clear Voice Technology, literally.

Nothing X

Since the release of Nothing Ear (stick), the company has renamed the app from Ear (1) to Nothing X to best fit the new releases. The app includes a new equalizer setting to fine-tune the sound. This also makes switching between modes easier just by using the phone. But, if you are a Nothing phone (1) user, the OS has everything built into it.

Moving on, the battery in the Ear (stick) lasts for almost 7 hours worth of playback. An additional 22 hours is stacked on top of that, thanks to the charging case. No wireless charging is supported. Nevertheless, the case charges too quickly with the wired one, with almost 9 hours of playtime within just 10 minutes.
