It was an open secret that Nothing was about to release new earbuds with a new naming convention a while ago. Now that one of those offerings has officially made it here, let’s talk in short about the Nothing Ear, its features, official price in Nepal and availability.
Nothing Ear Overview
Design and Audio
Looking at the design, the latest Nothing Ear does not look much different from its predecessor. It ships in the standard two colour options i.e. Black, and White. The case of Nothing Ear also looks the same with a squircle shape and a circular depression on the lid. Meanwhile, you get an IP54 water resistance on the buds while the case has a slightly higher resistance of IP55.
The Nothing Ear relies on an 11mm dynamic driver on both the buds with ceramic diaphragm. Similarly, these earbuds come with proprietary tuning from the company. Each bud also packs three mics which coupled with Clear Voice Technology offers undisturbed phone calls. Additionally, it comes noise cancellation feature where you can manually adjust between three levels. Or, you could simply choose “Adaptive” mode and the earbuds will automatically do all ANC adjusting according to your surroundings.
Features
The latest Nothing earbuds come with a plethora of features. Starting with, in-ear detection. These buds can detect whether or not it’s inside a user’s ear and pause or play media based on that. Other than that, it is equipped with Bluetooth v5.3 and offers four different codes — AAC, SBC, LHDC 5.0, and LDAC. These buds are compatible with devices running on Android 5.1 or iOS 11, and later.
You get Google Fast Pair as well as Microsoft Swift Pair features for a faster pairing experience. Meanwhile, these buds can be connected to two devices simultaneously for added convenience. You can access even more functionality through the Nothing X app. Lastly, the most popular LLM — ChatGPT has been integrated into the Nothing ecosystem and can be accessed through Nothing Ear.

Battery and Charging
The Nothing Ear holds a 500 mAh cell in the tank while the buds pack 46 mAh units each. With this, the earbuds can offer up to 8.5 hours of playback independently and over 40 hours with the case. These numbers are derived with ANC turned off. When you turn on the ANC, the playback hours drop to 24 and 5.2 respectively.
After you’ve drained the battery you can plug it in for just 10 minutes through the Type-C port to get 10 hours of usage out of it. On the other hand, it supports 2.5W wireless charge as well.
