The Redmi 9A features a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display with a water-drop notch on the front. It is an HD+ resolution screen with a 20:9 screen aspect ratio. Unfortunately, there is no higher refresh rate or anything of the sort here.

Nonetheless, the company claims that the phone has a TUV-certified reading mode that would reduce harmful blue light. Similarly, the screen has a typical brightness of 400 nits.

Furthermore, as a budget phone, the Redmi 9A has a rather basic design. There’s a stripe running down from a pill-shaped camera module while the rest of the back panel looks clean. Buyers will have a choice of three color variants to choose from—Midnight Black, Nature Green, and Sea Blue.

The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 processor manufactured on a 12nm node. It has eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores running at 2.0 GHz. The graphics, on the other hand, are handled by the Imagination PowerVR GE8320 GPU.
