Build quality and display
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 gets a hinge redesign to improve durability along with updated internals to fit a larger vapor chamber. The weight has also been reduced to now only weighing 239 grams (previously 253 grams in Fold 5). The Fold 6 is now IP48 dust and water resistant, which makes it capable of handling small dust particles.
The main 7.6-inch display alongside the cover 6.3-inch display are Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a maximum of 2,600 nits. Both of the displays are also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Performance and Battery
For the performance, the Z Fold 6 uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that has been specifically optimized for Galaxy phones. This processor is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM as well as 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of internal storage. The device boots on Galaxy’s One UI 6.1.1, which is based on Android 14. It will also receive up to 7 major Android updates.
The battery is the same Li-Po 4,400mAh cell that is charged via 25W wired charging (50% in around 30 minutes) or 15W wireless. Similarly, Galaxy Z Fold 6 also comes with 4.5W reverse wireless charging support.
Cameras and the rest of the features
The back module has a triple camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultrawide camera. The telephoto camera can give up to 3x optical zoom and has OIS. The selfie shooters include a 4MP under-display sensor as well as a 10MP shooter at the cover. You can shoot 8K videos with the back camera, while only 4K support is available for the front cameras.
Connectivity-wise, you’re getting 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and support for dual nano SIM plus eSIM. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 also comes with Samsung DeX (desktop experience support) as well as Ultra Wideband (UWB) support.
