Realme has launched the new Realme 16x 5G in India as the latest addition to its Realme 16 series as a direct successor to last year's Realme 15x 5G. The new phone brings several specs similar to its predecessor. However, the selfie camera, charging speed, and storage variant are major areas where you will see the trade-off. In this article, I will discuss this phone in detail, including the expected Realme 16x 5G price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

- For photography, the Realme 16x 5G gets a 50MP primary rear camera with autofocus, while the front camera has an 8MP sensor.
- Under the hood, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

Realme 16x 5G Overview
Design and Dispaly
Starting with the design, the Realme 16x 5G keeps a familiar look that is quite similar to its predecessor. The phone comes with a flat frame and a clean rear panel, while the camera module sits on the top-left corner along with an RGB light ring that could be customized for notifications. Here, you get the option to choose between “Endurance Brown” and “Glory White” finishes. However, durability is not that great, as it has only an IP65 rating, which is a major downner comparable to last year's 15x’s IP68/IP69 rating.

Up front, the Realme 16x 5G packs a large 6.8-inch HD+ LCD with a 1570 × 720-pixel resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate should make scrolling, animations, and gaming feel noticeably smoother, while the display panel looks average compared to the Samsung Galaxy A27 5G, Infinix GT 30 Pro, and Honor X9d that come with an AMOLED panel in a similar price bracket.

Additionally, the display reaches up to 1,200 nits of HBM brightness, which should deliver pretty good outdoor visibility even under harsh sunlight. Besides this, it also supports 83% DCI-P3 in Vivid mode and 100% sRGB in Natural mode, which should help in reproducing vibrant colors while watching the content.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Realme 16x 5G uses an entry-level MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset—identical to that what we saw in its predecessor. This is the same chip that we saw in other phones like the Honor X6d and Vivo Y21 5G, which come at a much lower price than this phone.

Though the chip is entry-level, to manage thermal issues during long gaming sessions—Realme has added a 5,300 sq mm vapour chamber cooling system. As a result, the phone should be better equipped to handle everyday tasks and extended use without excessive heating. Realme also claims that this phone can maintain stable 60 FPS for 9.3 hours during Free Fire and 10.4 hours for BGMI.

Memory-wise, it comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, with up to 6GB of physical RAM and 256GB of storage. On the software side, the Realme 16x 5G runs on Realme UI 7 based on Android 16. The company has also promised two years of OS updates and three years of security updates.

Camera and Battery
For Optics, the Realme 16x 5G features a 50MP primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and autofocus, offering useful shooting options. For everyday photography, the main camera should be capable of delivering decent results in different lighting conditions, while features such as Google Lens and dual-view video add extra flexibility. However, the front camera is where the phone takes a clear step back, as Realme has opted for an 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

In terms of battery, the Realme 16x 5G keeps the same 7,000mAh battery as its predecessor, so there is no major change in terms of battery capacity or expected endurance. However, the charging speed has been downgraded compared to the Realme 15x. The new model supports 45W fast charging, meaning users will have to wait longer to fully recharge the large battery.
