REDMI 15A 5G Price in Nepal

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 15A 5G in India, and the Chinese brand seems to be attempting to bring 5G down to a price point that was previously dominated by 4G-only phones. The A-series name itself is making a comeback after a long gap, as the last time Redmi used it properly was around the Redmi 10A era in 2022, and in between, the brand leaned on C-series naming for its cheapest phones. The 15A 5G is effectively the revival of that ultra-budget hero role, now with 5G attached to it. Let's see what that actually means in practice.

      Redmi 15A 5G Overview

      Design and Display

REDMI 15A 5G Design and Display

The Redmi 15A 5G is a plastic phone through and through, frame, back, all of it, which is entirely expected at this price, and nobody buying at this price should be expecting anything else. It comes in a fairly chunky slab, measuring 8.15mm in thickness and weighing 210 grams. The IP52 rating covers it against lig, though there’s also a big battery sitting inside. Similarly, the phone is provided in 3 colors, and they include Awesome Blue, Amaze Purple, and Ace Black.

The phone features a large 6.9-inch HD+ IPS LCD running at 120Hz. Although the display with an HD+ resolution on a nearly 7-inch screen will certainly give you output that makes text look softer and lacking in sharpness. But the 120Hz is also a welcome move at this price. Similarly, the phone comes with peak brightness that goes up to 810 nits in HBM mode. Xiaomi has also included DC dimming and triple TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light and flicker. Then, surprisingly, Redmi has also included a ‘Wet Touch Technology 2.0’, which makes sure your screen works well with wet fingers.

      Performance

The phone is powered by the Unisoc T8300 chip. It is a 6nm 5G chip with AnTuTu scores in the 500-550k range, that put it well below what phones like the Realme P4 Lite 5G or Tecno Spark 50 5G offer with the Dimensity 6300 and 6400, respectively at similar price points. However, it is sufficient for basic tasks like calls, messaging, YouTube, and Instagram. They have paired this with 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB or 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

On the other hand, Redmi has provided four years of Android OS updates and six years of security patches, which is another surprising move, that is not often expected from Xiaomi or anyone selling phones at budget range. It runs on Android 16 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 skin on top.

      Camera

Redmi has offered a 32MP main sensor at f/2.0 with a secondary camera and an LED flash, and the front has an 8MP shooter also at f/2.0. In good light, the main camera can pull out a decent amount of detail, but as you know, most smartphones, including major semi-flagship to flagship even struggle with low-light performance. Hence, for a budget phone, you should keep that in mind.  Moreover, the secondary rear camera in the phone is also mostly there for the spec sheet. Overall, this is not a phone you buy for photography, but they are reliable enough, and for the price, that's roughly what you get.

      Battery and Charging

      REDMI 15A 5G features

Smartphones these days with over 6000, and even above 7000 mAh battery have now become all too common. And the new Redmi 15A didn’t wait to lose any moment either. The phone comes with a 6300mAh battery, which gets its juice from a small 15W charger. The charging is the obvious catch as you're looking at well over an hour from flat, probably closer to two. But there's also 7.5W reverse wired charging as well.
