Redmi has silently launched the Turbo 5 Max in China yesterday, alongside the regular Redmi Turbo 5. But interestingly, this is the first time they've introduced a "Max" option in their Turbo lineup. And for whatever it's worth, the device definitely features some headline-grabbing specs. Not just it becomes the first device to feature the Dimensity 9500s, but at the same time, it packs a massive 9000mAh battery. This article will discuss everything about the latest Redmi Turbo 5 Max, including its expected price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.
Redmi Turbo 5 Max Overview
Display and Design

The Turbo 5 Max sports a 6.83-inch AMOLED display, which is slightly bigger compared to its younger sibling, the regular Turbo 5. It's a flat screen with ultra-narrow bezels and uses M10 flagship luminescent material. The display pushes up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness and features a 12-bit panel with 120Hz refresh rate that supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. For gaming, the touch sampling rate jumps to 2560Hz in Game Toolbox mode. The front has Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, and there's a pre-applied screen protector out of the box.
The build includes a 6-series aluminum mid-frame and a fiberglass battery cover. The phone comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, so it's pretty much ready to handle dust, water, and even high-pressure jets. Colors available are Auspicious Cloud White, Ocean Blue, Sunshine Orange, and Shadow Black.
Performance and Chipset
The Turbo 5 Max is the world's first phone to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. It's built on a 3nm process and features a 4+4 all-big-core architecture with a 29MB CPU cache. There's LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage to back it up.
Xiaomi has packed up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The chipset also includes an AI performance scheduler and unified dynamic frequency adjustment for the CPU, GPU, and RAM.
For cooling, Xiaomi has gone with what they call a "human-based thermal architecture" with 11+ NTC temperature sensors. There's a raised platform design that claims 3x thermal conductivity compared to traditional vapor chambers, along with 40% larger high-efficiency graphite area.
Battery and Charging
Okay, so these days having a 7000-7500mAh battery isn't really a headline catcher, which is available in the regular Turbo 5 by the way. But this guy is pushing everything to the MAX, with an even bigger 9000mAh battery. But it's worth noting that even the Turbo 5 Max isn't the phone with the biggest battery. We already have smartphones crossing the 10,000mAh line. It seems like phone companies have put everything on hold and have gone bonkers on batteries now.
Anyway, Xiaomi claims the battery will retain at least 80% capacity after 1,600 cycles, which translates to around 5 years of use. For charging, you get 100W wired fast charging and also a 27W wired reverse charging.

On the back, there's a dual-camera system with a 50MP Light Hunter 600 main sensor featuring f/1.5 aperture and OIS. It also has 12.5EV high dynamic range and Dual Native ISO Fusion. The second camera is an 8MP ultra-wide with 0.6x zoom. You also get 2x lossless zoom.
For selfies, there's a 20MP front camera. Video recording here goes up to 4K at 60fps. Other than that, there are AI features like portrait restoration, glare removal, intelligent film and video editing, AI music, and subtitles.
Connectivity
The phone supports dual-SIM, Wi-Fi 6 with dual-band aggregation, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. There's dual-frequency GPS and quad-frequency BeiDou for positioning. You also get kilometer-level offline emergency two-way communication, though it requires other Xiaomi phones and accounts.
The phone ships with Android 16-based Xiaomi HyperOS 3 out of the box. There's optimized touch sampling, window animation, and background app management. You get backlighting effects for games and Xiao Ai interactions. Meanwhile, the phone also includes Wet Hand Touch 2.0, so the touchscreen works even with wet or oily hands. And finally, there's also a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.
