Tecno recently launched the Camon 30 series including a titular phone, a “Pro” variant, and a “Premier” of the phone. The Premier variant is a camera-focused smartphone with a new ‘Tecno PolarAce Imaging System’. Display and Design
The design of the Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G pays homage to retro cameras while also letting us know what the phone is all about. It has a large circular camera island with four cutouts. Additionally, you get an LED flash that sits right below the camera bump. Other than that, a red “Action Dot” sits above the cameras which serves as an indicator for video recording, charging, voice assistant, and an infrared sensor. The phone will ship in a Grey, and a Black colour, where the former has a patterned finish.
On the display front, the latest smartphone features a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel. This screen measures 1,264 x 2,780 pixels achieving 1.5K resolution. Moreover, it can reach a peak of 1,400 nits of brightness. It is also an LTPO panel, a first in Tecno bar phone.
Performance
Under the hood, the Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G packs the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultra chipset. This silicon surfaced around mid-2023 with eight cores and 4nm fabrication. In the meantime, this processor can clock in between 2.00 GHz to 3.1 GHz.
Other than that, it comes with up to 12GB memory coupled with up to 512GB storage. If for some reason the 12GB RAM happens to be insufficient you can virtually double the memory capacity. On the software front, the phone ships with Android 14 with the company’s UI on top.

Cameras
As mentioned earlier, this phone is a camera-focused smartphone, and as such, it packs very solid camera specs. For starters, the primary shooter here is a Sony IMX890 sensor with 50MP resolution. The sensor size here is 1/1.56” and comes with optical image stabilisation. Additional cameras on the Tecno Camon Premier 5G are a 50MP 70mm periscope lens and a 50MP ultrawide shooter.
The shooters on themselves already sound impressive, however, Tecno is doubling down on the camera capabilities with the Tecno PolarAce Imaging System. This system is led by a dedicated ISP, namely a Sony chip named CXD5622GG rated at 4.6 TFLOPS at FP16. This is to say that, this Sony chip is better at image processing than the phone’s primary processor.
In addition to a dedicated ISP, the company is powering the Camon Premier 5G with Universal Tone, AIGC Portrait Mode, and AI One Click Eraser as well. Moreover, the phone features full-scene AI noise reduction for HDR videos, which Tecno says is the first in the industry. On the front, you get another 50MP shooter with an autofocus feature.
Battery and the rest
The Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G draws its power from a 5,000 mAh battery with 70W fast charging capability. It comes with WiFi, Bluetooth, and an IR blaster for wireless connectivity. Meanwhile, the wired connections are handled by a sole USB Type-C port.
