Tecno recently announced two super-thin smartphones called the Pova Slim and Spark Slim. While we’ve already discussed in detail about the Spark Slim in our previous article, here let’s talk about the Pova Slim 5G and what makes it different from its sibling. This article will discuss everything about the Tecno Pova Slim 5G, including its expected price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.
Tecno Pova Slim 5G Overview
So the Pova Slim is basically the 5G version of what Tecno’s doing with their ultra-thin phone experiment. At 5.95mm thick and weighing the same 156 grams as the Spark Slim, it’s essentially the same phone but with 5G connectivity and a slightly different processor setup.
What’s interesting is that Tecno kept the Pova branding for the 5G variant, which usually means they’re targeting the gaming crowd. Although with a phone this thin, I’m not sure how much gaming performance you can realistically expect without turning it into a heating plate.
5G Performance and Connectivity
The big difference here is the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, and as I said earlier, through this SoC, it brings 5G to the table. This is a step up from the Helio G200 in the regular Spark Slim, though it’s still not that much signficant jump. Its built on a 6nm process and overall process should run just fine. You get the same 8GB RAM and storage options, running Android 15 with HiOS 15.
Same engineering challenges
As we discussed this in our Spark Slim article – the engineering behind these ultra-thin phones is genuinely impressive. That 0.45mm USB Type-C port, the 0.3mm vapor chamber, and the 4.04mm thick 5,160mAh battery pack. All of that engineering wizardry carries over to the Pova Slim. The Honeycomb Space Stacking Technology (whatever that actually means) is here too, along with that aerospace-grade fiberglass back cover that’s just 0.36mm thick.
Display and Build
Same 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and that crazy 4,500 nits peak brightness. The display quality should be identical to the Spark Slim since they’re using the same panel.
You get the same build options too – stainless steel or ceramic back. Based on hands-on reports, the ceramic version is definitely the way to go if you don’t want constant fingerprint cleanup duty.
Camera and Features
The Pova Slim doesn’t get that fancy Mood Light LED bar that the Spark Slim has. It’s just a standard dual 50MP camera setup without the notification light show. The 50MP main camera looks decent enough for the price range.
The 5,160mAh battery still supports 45W fast charging and 10W reverse charging. IP64 water and dust resistance is there, which is better than nothing but not exactly waterproof territory. All the concerns we mentioned about the Spark Slim apply here too. Finding a case that fits properly, worrying about bending, the whole question of whether anyone actually needs a phone this thin.

Tecno Pova Slim 5G Price in Nepal and Availability
Since both phones are still concept devices, pricing is all speculation at this point. But if Tecno does bring the Pova Slim 5G to market, expect it to cost a bit more than the regular Spark Slim due to the 5G connectivity.
