Vivo just listed the Y38 5G on its website, however, we have already seen this phone before. It is more or less the same thing as the Vivo Y200i that launched a little while ago. Regardless, we will discuss the Vivo Y38 5G in further detail in this article, including its expected price in Nepal.
Vivo Y38 5G Overview
Design and Display
As I mentioned earlier, the Vivo Y38 5G is quite similar to the Vivo Y200i and looks the part as well. As such it comes in an all-flat design with a large circular camera island aligned to the left and IP64 rating. While most aspects between the two phones are the same, they ship in different shades of colour. This phone is available in two colour options: a “Pacific Blue” finish with glittery patterns and a monotone option dubbed “Agate Green”.
On the front, you get an LCD panel stretching 6.68 inches on the Vivo Y38 5G. Moreover, it offers you an HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 1,000 nits peak brightness, and an 83% NTSC colour gamut. Other than that, you get a pixel density and colour depth of 264 PPI and 16.7 million respectively.
Performance
Under the helm, you get a relatively recent budget chip from Qualcomm with 5G support. To be more specific, it packs the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 that launched in mid-2023. This processor has eight cores, 4nm fabrication, and a peak clock speed of 2.2 GHz.
In addition to the silicon, you get a combination of 8GB memory and 256GB storage on the Vivo Y38 5G. This phone ships in this sole configuration unlike the Vivo Y200i which is available in three different trims. In the meantime, this phone allows you to double the memory capacity virtually while offering storage expansion of up to 1TB via MicroSD card. Software-wise, it boots on the Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14.
Camera and the rest
Talking of the cameras on this phone, you get three units altogether. The rear shooters on the Vivo Y38 5G include a 50MP main camera coupled with a 2MP depth sensor. Meanwhile, the front-facing camera is an 8MP unit that serves as a face scanner as well.
The Vivo Y38 5G draws its power from a large 6,000 mAh battery while supporting 44W fast charging. In terms of wireless connectivity, you get dual SIM with 5G cellular, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth v5.1, and NFC support. On the other hand, it comes with a USB 2.0 Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired connections. Lastly, it has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security.

Vivo Y38 5G Price in Nepal and Availability
Even though this phone has been listed on the company's official website, its pricing has not been revealed. Meanwhile, it ships in the only configuration that the Vivo Y200i does not ship in. Based on this fact, we can guess its pricing should be CNY 1,699.
If that turns out to be true, we can expect the Vivo Y38 5G price in Nepal to be NPR 37,999 when it enters our borders. Moreover, Vivo phones are quite popular here, hence, this phone will likely be available soon.
