Xiaomi Book Pro 14 price in Nepal

Xiaomi is back in the laptop game after almost four years, and this time, it looks like they might be serious. The Xiaomi Book Pro 14 was announced at the company's Spring New Product Launch Event a couple of days ago, and the Chinese company has positioned this new laptop as a direct MacBook Air competitor. This is a bold claim, but does the new Xiaomi laptop hold any water? Let’s find out.

      Xiaomi Book Pro 14 Overview

Around 2022 and 2023, Xiaomi pulled back from the premium laptop segment. At that time, Market share was globally low, and the Redmi sub-brand had taken over more affordable and gaming laptop lines, and Xiaomi was focused almost entirely on phones, electric vehicles, and smart home products. They even stopped offering repair services for older Xiaomi laptop models in 2024. The Book Pro 14 launch in 2026 coincides with Xiaomi's 10th PC anniversary, and it reads like a deliberate attempt to re-enter the premium laptop conversation. But let’s see how it goes.

      Design and Build

      Xiaomi Book Pro 14 Design

One of the more interesting things about this new laptop is its weight. It weighs only 1.08 kg and is 14.95mm thick, which is very lightweight for a 14-inch laptop. Although I must say, it’s nowhere near the ‘lightest’ laptops currently available in the market. Even in Nepal, nowadays, we are already seeing sub-1 kg laptops in large volumes. Leaving that aside, the chassis in the Book Pro 14  uses a unibody die-cast magnesium alloy, which Xiaomi claims is around 30% lighter than traditional aluminum designs, and is combined with a carbon fiber bottom cover and graphene aluminum alloy cooling components. There's also a titanium alloy keyboard support plate, and the surface uses a velvet-textured finish.

Xiaomi has offered the laptop in multiple color options, which include Soft Fog Blue, Elegant Gray, Creamy White, and Soft Light Pink. The touchpad is also one of the largest touchpads on any Windows laptop, and it's pressure-sensitive.

      Display

Another thing I liked about the laptop is probably its display. It features a compact-sized 14.6-inch OLED panel. The OLED pane rarely needs any elaboration, as they are probably the best things you can have in your laptop. And alongside that, the laptop is also touchscreen, which makes it perfect for those who are looking for a creative machine with brilliant visuals and a sharp display. It has a resolution of 3.1k ( 3120x2080)  at 258 ppi, and the refresh rate is also 120Hz. The refresh didn’t surprise me, as these days, 120Hz has started to become common, and for a laptop like this, it was well expected.

But what surprised me was the peak brightness that reaches 1,600 nits. When most laptops rarely hit 500 nits, even in the upper bound of creator laptops, this one cements itself a magnitude above everyone else. And oh by the way, it also covers 100% DCI-P3, supports Dolby Vision, and has a TÜV Rheinland certification for both flicker-free and low blue light. If you put this display in contrast to the new MacBook Air M5, their claim starts to make sense.

      Performance

      Xiaomi Book Pro 14 features

The Book Pro 14 is one of the first laptops to ship with Intel's Panther Lake platform, and it comes in three configurations: Core Ultra 5 325, Core Ultra 5 338H, and Core Ultra X7 358H. The top X7 model is a 16-core chip, and all variants include the Intel Arc B390 iGPU, which uses the newer Xe3 architecture. Xiaomi says the cooling system, a 10,000mm² vapor chamber with dual fans and a three-channel thermal setup, can sustain up to 50W of performance.

The new Panther Lake platform has been a step forward in both CPU performance and GPU capability. The Arc B390 in particular has noticeably closed the gap with entry-level discrete GPUs in some workloads, which has not historically been true of Intel integrated graphics.

All variants come with 1TB of storage, and there's a spare M.2 2280 slot that supports up to 4TB. Similarly, the laptop is paired with LPDDR5X RAM at 24GB on the base model and 32GB on the two higher configurations.

      Battery and Rest

The Book Pro 14 ships with a pretty large battery for a laptop weighing just over a kg. At 72Wh, Xiaomi claims up to 19.8 hours of runtime, broken down as 12.4 hours of video streaming and 15.8 hours of online meetings. A 100W GaN charger is also included in the box.

The Book Pro 14 includes Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. And other than that, Xiaomi has also provided ecosystem integration with Xiaomi phones and tablets, which is also supported through HyperOS continuity features.

Xiaomi Book Pro 14 Price in Nepal and Availability

The Book Pro 14 went on sale in China just recently. There is no global availability announced yet, and no Nepal launch date confirmed. Given Xiaomi's patchy track record with laptop availability in Nepal specifically, a local launch is uncertain. If it does arrive, pricing would depend on which variant makes it here.
