After all the hype and quite a long wait, Yatri has finally revealed the official pricing of the P2, along with the prices of all three battery variants and the extra add-ons you can choose through its configurator. And honestly, this is where the P2 becomes a lot more interesting because it is not just a single fixed scooter. You can configure it depending on how much range, performance, and connectivity you actually need.

The P2 also marks Yatri’s proper comeback after the P1, this time with Sipradi backing the project. It is designed, engineered, and manufactured in Nepal, with a clear focus on our road conditions, including hills, rough patches, heat, and monsoon weather.

So in this article, let’s look at what each P2 variant offers, how the different battery options compare, what the add-ons cost, and whether this Made-in-Nepal electric scooter makes sense against the growing number of Indian and Chinese EVs in Nepal.

Design and Build

Starting with the design, the Yatri P2 looks quite different from most electric scooters currently available in Nepal. It has a sporty and futuristic appearance with sharp body panels, a distinctive front section, and LED lighting.

Underneath, the scooter uses a dual-cradle trellis frame and rides on 14-inch alloy wheels. For suspension, you get a 90mm-travel front fork along with dual progressive rear shocks. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both ends, with a 240mm ventilated disc at the front and a 220mm unit at the rear.

Yatri says the chassis and suspension setup have been developed while keeping Nepal’s roads in mind, which includes everything from uneven city roads to steep climbs and rough patches. Practicality has also been given quite a bit of attention here. The P2 gets a spacious floorboard and 30 litres of under-seat storage, which should be enough for everyday commuting. There is also a 45W charging port for your phone and other devices.

Three Battery Options, Three Different Performance Levels

This is probably the most important thing to understand about the Yatri P2. Unlike many scooters where you simply pick a color or battery size, the P2 changes quite a bit depending on which power pack you choose.

You get three battery options: 3.0 kWh, 3.7 kWh, and 5.2 kWh. And as you move up the variants, you are not only getting a bigger battery. The motor output and some of the connectivity features also improve.

Yatri P2 Price in Nepal

Now coming to the part everyone was waiting for, the official pricing. The Yatri P2 starts at Rs. 3,29,900 for the 3.0 kWh model. The mid-spec 3.7 kWh version costs Rs. 3,99,900, while the top 5.2 kWh configuration is priced at Rs. 4,99,900.

So yes, the final prices have ended up a little higher than many of us expected before launch, especially for the top variant.

But there is another important thing to understand here. These are base prices. Yatri allows buyers to configure the scooter further with additional hardware and software features, which means the final price can go higher depending on what you select.

1.8 kWh Range Extender

One of the most interesting extras is the 1.8 kWh Range Extender. It costs an additional Rs. 90,600 and adds around 50 km of claimed range.

However, it is only available with the 3.7 kWh and 5.2 kWh variants. So with the range extender added:

The 207 km figure is the maximum range Yatri currently advertises for the P2. Interestingly, this also means a 3.7 kWh P2 with the range extender costs almost as much as the base 5.2 kWh variant.

So buyers will have to decide whether they want more total range or a bigger standard battery with more performance and features.

Other Optional Add-ons

Yatri is taking a slightly different approach with the P2 by letting users configure a number of features separately. Some of the currently listed optional upgrades include:

Not every option is available with every battery variant, so you will need to check the configurator depending on which power pack you choose. The 3.0 kWh model, for example, does not include Standard Connectivity by default. Adding it costs another Rs. 19,200.

The 3.7 kWh variant includes Standard Connectivity, while the 5.2 kWh model comes with Advanced Connectivity already included. And that is important when comparing the price differences because the jump from one variant to another is not only about battery size.

Delivery and Availability

Yatri has already opened bookings for the P2. According to the company, deliveries of the 3.7 kWh and 5.2 kWh variants are scheduled to begin from mid-October and continue through November.

The 3.0 kWh variant and the remaining configurations are expected to become available from December.

Motor and Performance

Another thing I like about how Yatri has structured the P2 is that the motor output increases together with the battery. The entry-level version gets 6 kW, the mid variant gets 8 kW, and the top version gets the full 10 kW peak output. All three variants are rated for a claimed top speed of 90 km/h and up to 315 Nm of wheel torque.

So even though the smaller variants have less peak power, Yatri has kept the claimed top speed consistent across the lineup. The P2 uses a mid-drive PMSM motor, which sends power through a chain-drive system rather than using the more common hub motor setup found on many electric scooters.

Battery and Warranty

The P2 uses lithium-ion battery packs with LG cells.Depending on the configuration, Yatri offers warranty coverage of up to 8 years or 80,000 km.

The battery pack itself carries an IP67 rating, which is particularly important for Nepal considering how common waterlogged roads and heavy monsoon conditions can be.

Charging

Charging is another area where the P2 stands out. All three variants come with a 1,350W onboard AC charger.

For home charging, Yatri lists roughly:

• 3.0 kWh: around 2 hours 5 minutes
• 3.7 kWh: around 2 hours 5 minutes
• 5.2 kWh: around 2 hours 30 minutes

More importantly, the P2 also supports DC fast charging.Yatri claims the battery can reach 80% in around 41 minutes using a compatible DC charger. The top 5.2 kWh variant also supports an optional 2,000W onboard charging setup.

Yatri Charging Network

Of course, DC fast charging is only useful if chargers are actually available.And this is where Yatri's partnership with Sipradi could become very important. The company is working on a dedicated charging network for the P2, with Phase I planned around major routes and destinations across Nepal.

Yatri says the initial network will include 35 charging stations across 15 destinations and four major route lines.For an electric two-wheeler, having a proper fast-charging network could make a big difference, especially if you plan to use the scooter outside Kathmandu.

Display and Connectivity

The Yatri P2 gets a large 7-inch TFT instrument display. Depending on the connectivity package, it supports features such as:

• Calls and music controls
• Charger finder
• Vehicle information
• Ride data
• Live location tracking
• Theft alerts
• Remote immobilization

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are still quite rare on scooters in Nepal, so this is one of the P2's more interesting features.

Other Features

The P2 also packs plenty of additional features depending on your configuration. You can get tyre-pressure monitoring, cruise control, hill hold, reverse mode, multiple riding modes, multiple levels of regenerative braking, proximity-based keyless start, movement alerts, anti-theft functions, and fall detection.

There is also a regen-responsive tail light and a projector-style LED headlamp. So on paper, the P2 is definitely trying to position itself more like a tech-focused premium EV rather than simply a basic electric commuter.

Sipradi after-sales service

One of the other important aspects of the Yatri P2 is the backing of Sipradi, which brings decades of experience in Nepal’s automotive distribution and after-sales service. Through the Sipradi Yatri partnership, the P2 is expected to benefit from Sipradi’s established service and support network across the country.

For an electric scooter from a Nepali brand, this could be an important factor for buyers who are concerned about service availability, spare parts, and long-term ownership support. The company is also building its dedicated Yatri Experience Center in Teku, where customers will be able to experience the scooter and access support as the P2 moves toward commercial availability.

So What's Next ?

Now that the official pricing is out, the Yatri P2 looks quite promising overall, especially considering what it is offering as a locally developed electric scooter. The pricing is definitely a little higher than what we initially expected, but now that the final numbers are clear, it will be interesting to see how the P2 actually competes with the growing number of Chinese and Indian electric scooters in Nepal.
