The "Scary Fast" Event from Apple witnessed a fresh lineup of M3 chips called, an upgraded iMac, and the highly anticipated 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models which have just made their way to Nepal. M3 Pro/Max

The 16-inch model of the Macbook Pro skips the base M3 chip and goes for the M3 Pro and M3 Max silicon instead. To note, the entire lineup of the M3 chip is based on a 3-nanometer technology.

The M3 Pro variant of this 16-inch guy boasts a 12-core CPU and an 18-core GPU with two memory configurations: 18GB RAM + 512GB SSD and 36GB RAM + 512GB SSD. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line M3 Max comes in two variants: 14-core CPU, 30-core GPU and 16-core CPU and 40-core GPU. Memory too, you get to choose between two options: 36GB + 1TB and 48GB + 1TB. On top of that, the M3 Max variant is configurable up to 128GB of RAM. While all the variants support configurable storage options of up to 8TB. In terms of performance, the MacBook Pro M3 Max is claimed to be 2.5 times faster than the MacBook Pro with the M1 Max chipset and a staggering 11 times faster than Intel-based MacBook Pro models. Apple has also included an improved neural engine for enhanced machine learning capabilities.

Apart from CPU performance, the GPU segment receives a significant boost with hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh shading, the first time ever for Apple silicon. This is great news for gaming enthusiasts and a huge sigh of relief! Additionally, it supports Dynamic Caching, ensuring efficient allocation of RAM for the GPU.

Design and Display

The design remains largely unchanged, with the notable addition of a notch on the display. The MacBook Pro boasts an Apple Liquid Retina XDR 16.2-inch panel with HDR support, reaching peak brightness levels of up to 1600 nits. HDR and SDR brightness levels go up to 1000 nits and 600 nits, respectively.
