Design and Build
Starting with the design, the all-new Zenbook S16 comes with a premium and sturdy build that combines ‘Ceramic’ and ‘Aluminum,’ which Asus calls ‘Ceraluminum’ material, often used in the aerospace and luxury watch industries. Asus claims that this material is not only tough but also helps keep the machine light. With that in mind, it makes a lot of sense to see the sleek Zenbook S 16 measuring just around 12.9 mm thick and weighing about 1.5 kg. For color options, we have ‘Antrim Gray’ and ‘Scandinavian White’.

Moving to my favorite part, i.e., the display, the device features a huge 16-inch 3K (2880x1800) pixel OLED touchscreen with a fast 120Hz refresh rate. Colors on this screen are super vivid, thanks to its 100% DCI-P3 gamut, and it’s also PANTONE Validated, so it’s quite reliable for design and creative work. Other than this, we get an anti-glare panel with 500 nits of typical brightness while on HDR (peak), the display can reach up to 1100 nits, which is more than enough for outdoors.
Performance and Memory
The all-new Asus VivoBook S16 is powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen AI 400 series CPU, specifically the Ryzen AI 7 445 CPU. This CPU comes with an integrated “AMD Ryzen AI” NPU capable of delivering up to 59 TOPS for AI-powered features such as background blur, real-time translation, and more.
However, you should know that despite the new branding, there is no such major leap in raw performance. The Ryzen AI 7 445 is essentially a refreshed version of the older Ryzen AI 5 340 found in previous-generation ultrabooks. The biggest changes include a slightly higher boost clock of up to 4.6GHz and a revised core configuration with 3 Zen 5 cores and 3 Zen 5c cores, compared to the 2 Zen 5 and 4 Zen 5c cores on its predecessor.
In terms of memory, the Vivobook S 16 comes with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM paired with 1TB of storage, which is enough for casual use.
Connectivity and Battery
Regarding connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. For physical connectivity, it includes one USB-A port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one HDMI 2.1 port, an SD card reader, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The battery comes with an 83Wh cell and charges via a 68W charger included in the box.
