Deepfake

Deepfakes are digitally manipulated media, typically videos or images, that use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to alter or replace faces, voices, or entire scenes to make them appear real. This technology can convincingly swap one person’s likeness with another’s, creating highly realistic but fabricated content. While deepfakes can be used for entertainment and creative purposes, they also raise concerns about misinformation, fraud, and privacy violations, as they can easily deceive viewers and spread false narratives. As deepfake technology advances, efforts to detect and combat misuse have become increasingly important.
