DJI has introduced its latest action camera, the Osmo Action 5 Pro, which aims to compete with GoPro’s newest Hero 13 Black in Nepal. The new camera brings several upgrades, including a 13.5-stop dynamic range and up to 4 hours of battery life. The camera includes 47GB of built-in storage and supports high-speed data transfers of up to 80MB/s via Wi-Fi 6 or USB 3.0. Additionally, it offers Wi-Fi livestreaming support and Timecode functionality for syncing footage from multiple cameras. Other features, such as pre-rec and Highlight marking, are designed to simplify video editing.

Battery Life

Powered by a 1,950 mAh battery, the Action 5 Pro offers up to 4 hours of recording time, well above the industry average of 2 hours. Even in extreme cold temperatures as low as -20°C, the camera can record for up to 3.6 hours. Furthermore, using DJI’s 30W USB-C charger, a 15-minute charge can provide up to 2 hours of recording time.

Additional Features

The Action 5 Pro can be used underwater up to 20 meters deep without needing a case. It includes a built-in color temperature sensor to capture more accurate colors underwater. In addition, it can automatically start recording when submerged and stop after surfacing. A pressure gauge monitors underwater depth and duration for added safety.
