      HMD Vibe2 Pro

The company first introduced the HMD Vibe2 5G in India earlier this year, targeting the budget segment with a large battery, 120Hz display, and 5G connectivity. Now, HMD has expanded the lineup with the Vibe2 Pro, bringing a few meaningful upgrades while keeping the same 6,000mAh battery at its core. The new model gets a sharper display and a more capable camera setup, along with faster charging and a newer MediaTek chipset.

      Key Highlights

      • The HMD Vibe2 Pro features a 6.78-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
      • It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
      • The phone packs a 64MP main camera alongside a 2MP macro camera and a 13MP selfie camera.
      • It comes with a 6,000mAh battery and supports 33W wired charging.

So, what else has HMD changed with the new Pro model? Let’s take a closer look at the HMD Vibe2 Pro, including its features, specifications, availability, and expected price in Nepal.

      HMD Vibe2 Pro Overview

      Build and Design

The HMD Vibe2 Pro features a simple design with a flat frame and a dual-tone finish on the back. It measures 168.4 × 76.3 × 8.3mm and weighs 197 grams, giving it a fairly standard size and weight for a phone with a large display and battery. It comes in Silver Mist, Aqua Green, and Cosmic Purple color options and weighs around 197 grams.

For the display, the phone features a 6.78-inch LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Compared to the regular Vibe2's HD+ screen, the higher resolution should provide sharper text and more detailed visuals, while the 120Hz refresh rate keeps scrolling and animations smoother.

The phone also includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric security. Other hardware features include stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

      Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Vibe2 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The chipset is built on a 6nm process and features an octa-core CPU, giving the phone enough processing power for everyday tasks such as browsing, social media, streaming, and multitasking

The phone runs Android 16 out of the box, with HMD promising two years of security updates. It also comes with Indus AI by Sarvam, which is designed for users in India and supports more than 20 Indian languages.

For connectivity, the phone supports 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The combination of the Dimensity 6300 and 120Hz display also gives the Vibe2 Pro a more capable hardware package than its standard sibling.

      Cameras and Battery

The Vibe2 Pro gets a 64MP Sony IMX682 main camera on the rear, accompanied by a 2MP macro camera. For selfies and video calls, it has a 13MP front-facing camera.

The main camera is one of the notable upgrades over the regular Vibe2, which comes with a 50MP rear camera. The higher-resolution sensor should also give the Vibe2 Pro more room for cropping and capturing finer details in good lighting.

Powering the phone is a 6,000mAh battery, the same capacity as the regular Vibe2. However, HMD has increased the charging speed to 33W, compared to 15W on the Vibe2, allowing the Pro model to recharge faster. A compatible charger is included in the box.
