Honor has added yet another entry in its 400 series of smartphones: the Honor 400 Smart 5G. It’s the most affordable phone in the lineup, which already consisted of Honor 400 (review), Honor 400 Pro (review), and Honor 400 Lite (review). Design and Display
Honor 400 Smart 5G is available in two colors: Black and Grey. It has a squarish camera module that we have seen on Honor’s budget phones, like Honor X8c (review). Other than this, the phone weighs around 189 grams, is IP64 dust/splash resistant, and is also SGS-certified for drop and crush resistance.
Up front, the Honor 400 Smart 5G brings a 6.77-inch TFT LCD panel with an HD resolution. This is actually a downgrade compared to the FHD+ display on the Honor 200 Smart, by the way. Along with that, the peak brightness has also gone down from 850 nits to 700 nits. Although you’re still getting a smooth 120Hz refresh rate here.

Performance, cameras, and battery
In terms of performance, this Honor phone is powered by a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 (6nm) chip. This has been paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, while we expect Honor to add some more memory configurations for the phone shortly.
And software-wise, it runs on Android 15 with Honor’s Magic OS 9.0 on top. The company also promises 5 years of OS + security updates for this guy.
The Honor 400 Smart 5G gets a big upgrade in the battery department, though. That’s because compared to a 5,200 mAh battery on its predecessor, it now has a massive 6,500 mAh unit. Then again, the charging speed has remained the same at 35W.
Honor has kept things almost boringly simple for the cameras on this phone. So you have a 50MP f/1.8 main camera and a 2MP depth sensor at the back, followed by a 5MP selfie shooter that sits inside the hole-punch cutout.
