After months of speculation regarding Honor brand coming to Nepal, Honor officially arrived in Nepal at the end of 2018. And for many of you asking us about the Honor 8X and Honor Play…yes, these phones are here too, along with other budget phones.

Kratos Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is the official distributors of the Honor smartphones in Nepal. And while Honor is an online retailing brand in other countries, they will be selling the phones only via offline channels in Nepal. The reasons for this should be obvious.

Honor 7S

The Honor 7s is modest of the bunch with similar specs. A 5.45″ LCD screen with 18:9 aspect ratio, but only HD resolution display is what you get. Plus, it has a low-range MediaTek MT6739 chipset with 2 GB of RAM. The cameras it packs are also a 13 MP at the rear with a 5 MP at the front.

Honor 8X

Moving on to the mid-range department, we have the Honor 8X first. It is among the most hyped phone internationally as well as in Nepal. And for good reason. This phone has a large 6.5″ Full HD display in 19.5:9 aspect ratio on a glass body. It also packs a 20 MP primary camera paired with a 2 MP depth sensor at the back, and a 16 MP selfie camera up front. These cameras also boast Huawei’s AI technology. With a Kirin 710 chipset inside and 4 GB RAM, it is a good mid-range device. Plus, it also features Huawei’s Turbo boost for gaming.

Honor 20 Lite

The only one of the Honor 20 series in Nepal, the major attraction about this phone is the triple camera set up at the back and the price in Nepal, of course. It’s got a pretty trendy feature set, a waterdrop display, and a large battery as well. Also, it runs on the Kirin 710 and packs 4 GB RAM. Good enough to make it a desirable phone, isn’t it?

Honor Play

Last of the bunch, and the phone that was asked about the most, the Honor Play is known for intense performance and gameplay. It has a flagship-grade processor powering it and has similar aesthetics as well. This phone has 6.3″ IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It features dual rear cameras comprising of a 16 MP primary shooter and a 2 MP depth sensor. It also packs a 16 MP camera in the front. Powering the device is the Kirin 970 chipset, found in the likes of last year’s flagship phones like Huawei P20 Pro.

Also, it has 4 GB RAM to match with the powerful chipset. With a Mali G72 GPU and GPU Turbo Boost technology, it boasted about its gaming prowess as well. The phone may be comparable to the Pocophone F1 in some aspects, but the price, however, is not. It costs higher in Nepal, and that seems a bit too much to ask. For similar price, we can get the Pocophone F1, whose performance is far better than this.

While we’re still on the price, Honor phones are great, no doubt. But the pricing seems a bit steep, especially, when you compare it to Indian pricing. And that might cause Honor to lose a lot of Nepali fans. What might be the reason for such pricing? Maybe we’ll know in their launch event this Wednesday. But in the meantime, do let us know if you will go for these phones or sit them out.[/su_table]
