Design and Display

Starting with the design, the Honor X80i features an aluminum frame and a glass back for a premium look. It has a square camera module on the back with a dual-lens setup and an LED flash. You also get a pill-shaped cutout in the front. You will not feel uncomfortable while watching videos for long hours, as it weighs around 185 grams. In addition, you also get an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance with 1.8m drop resistance.

Regarding the display, you get crisp, sharp text and images on the Honor X80i's 6.6-inch AMOLED display. Also, you get a smooth scrolling experience with a 120Hz refresh rate. If you have experience with indoor movie watching and the experience has generally not been pleasant enough, then you don't have to worry anymore. This device delivers up to 6500 nits of peak brightness, which is ideal for watching HDR content.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, you get an entry-level Dimensity 6500 Elite SoC released in 2026. Honestly, this SoC is quite a downer compared to the mid-range Dimensity 7025 Ultra that we saw in Honor X70i. Anyway, you can still use this phone to scroll through social media, watch movies, and listen to music. Further, you can also play games like PUBG and Free Fire on this phone, but don't forget to keep the graphics at medium or low settings. Similarly, you get up to 12GB RAM and a 256GB storage option in this phone.

In terms of software, the Honor X80i runs on MagicOS 10, based on Android 16, and includes Honor's AI suite. Although it is not clear what updates this phone will receive, but based on our past experience with Honor, we can expect 2 major OS updates and 2-3 security patches.
