Huawei Mate 80 launched with 5750mAh battery and Kirin 9020 SoC

Huawei, the top dog in the Chinese domestic market, has launched the Mate 80 Series in China. This article will focus on the vanilla Mate 80 phone alongside its specs, features, and expected price in Nepal.

Design and Display

Starting with the design, the Huawei Mate 80 carries a typical Huawei vibe, with a circular camera module featuring XMAGE branding in the centre. The middle frame is sturdy thanks to its aluminum build. As for the display, Huawei has equipped it with a 1.5K OLED panel with LTPO(1Hz-120Hz). The main highlight is a whopping 8000 nits of peak brightness. Other features include second-generation Kunlun glass protection, 1440Hz PWM dimming, and a 300Hz touch sampling rate.

Camera

As for the optics, the Mate 80 rocks a triple camera layout. First up, you get a 50MP main camera with a variable aperture and a sensor size of 1/1.28-inch. Then, there is a 40MP UW lens and a 12MP 5.5x Zoom camera with a 125mm f/3.4 lens.

Under the hood, the Mate 80 Pro gets its horsepower from a Kirin 9020 processor. It is paired with 12/16GB of RAM and 256/512GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, booting the phone is HarmonyOS 6.0, Huawei's self-developed OS.
