Huawei introduced the MatePad 11.5 (2026) at yesterday's Nova 15 series launch event. Above all, Huawei presents its tablet as an “education-focused device aimed at students and families,” and it comes in two versions: a standard model and a Soft Light Edition with anti-glare screen treatment. Let's get into this article, where I will discuss everything about the Huawei MatePad 11.5 (2026), including its specifications, and expected price in Nepal.
Huawei MatePad 11.5 (2026) Overview
Display

The biggest focus of this device is its display. As I mentioned earlier, the device is especially focused on “educational purposes.” But it's not even that this device's comes with flagship specs on its display segment, but rather the MatePad 11.6 comes with add-on features that are suitable for your eyes. Following that, the MatePad 11.5 (2026) has merely an IPS LCD of 11.5 inches with 2,456 × 1,600 pixels resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio, which is better for reading documents and PDFs than the usual 16:9 screens. The display supports adaptive refresh rates of 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz, and brightness peaks at 600 nits. The standard version uses a regular IPS panel with TÜV Rheinland certification.
The Soft Light Edition is the more interesting variant. It uses nano-etching anti-glare technology that cuts ambient light interference by 99% and reflectivity by 60%, plus circular polarization to mimic natural light. This version carries both TÜV Rheinland certification and the stricter SGS Low Visual Fatigue 2.1 Gold certification.
Performance
The tablet runs on either the Kirin T82B (standard version) or Kirin T82 (Soft Light Edition). Since, Huawei rarely releases anything about the chipsets themselves, we will have to presume the slight naming difference suggests a binned or revised chip, though, in my opinion, the performance gap is probably minor. Plus, there's a 3D heat dissipation system inside.
Software and Learning Features

The MatePad 11.5 (2026) runs HarmonyOS 5.1 with Huawei's AI Health Learning 2 system. There's a Minor Mode for restricted content, Study Mode to block distractions, Eye Protection Mode for warmer colors, and Do Not Disturb Mode. Similarly, parents get “Remote Guardian” for monitoring usage and setting time limits. This can be said as Huawei's direct answer to iPad's Screen Time and the Chinese education tablet market.
Camera and Battery
The rear camera is a 13MP shooter with f/1.8 aperture and autofocus, while the front camera is 8MP with f/2.0 aperture. The tablet packs a hefty 10,100mAh battery with 40W fast charging. Huawei claims up to 14 hours of local video playback.

Audio and Connectivity
There are quad speakers with Huawei Histen 9.0 tuning and dual microphones. You are getting Wi-Fi 6 with a dual-antenna design on the connectivity ends. Other than that, the tablet also syncs with Huawei phones and PCs, and you can grab optional accessories like the Huawei M-Pencil (3rd gen) and Smart Keyboard.
