The Huawei GT Wtach 6 and Watch GT 6 Pro smartwatch offer precise health and fitness tracking, excellent sleep analysis, a durable titanium build, and up to two weeks of battery life. Downsides include a limited app ecosystem, region-restricted ECG, and fewer smart features than Wear OS or Apple Watch. Still, both are solid choices for those valuing health tracking, durability, and long battery life.

When we talk about premium smartwatches, the first names that usually come up are Apple or Samsung Galaxy Watch. After using them and now daily driving Huawei's latest GT6 and GT6 Pro watches, I genuinely think Huawei watches are better alternatives for most users. I’ve personally been daily driving the Huawei GT6, and one of my office colleagues has been using the GT6 Pro every single day. And after spending time with both, the experience has been consistently solid across health tracking, battery life, and overall usability.
Now let’s talk about pricing, because this is where Huawei really stands out. The GT6 starts at NPR 34,500 for both the 41mm and 46mm variants. And the GT6 Pro comes in at NPR 55,000. And when we compare that to Apple or Samsung's flagship watches, which are significantly more expensive, these new Huawei watches feel like a much better value. So, let me share all my experience with the Huawei GT6 and GT6 Pro here.

Huawei GT 6 and GT 6 Pro Review
Design & Build
Design-wise, the regular GT6 is similar to what we saw with GT4 and GT5, whereas the GT6 Pro has a new, improved design. It looks more modern and more professional. We get a titanium alloy frame on the Pro variant, which makes it not only lighter than previous generations but also more durable and feels more premium in hand.

This brown composite woven-strap variant on the GT6 Pro, which I have, is extremely comfortable, even for long workouts or all-day wear. You can also opt for other strap options, such as Nylon, Vegan Leather, or Plastic. The watch is IP69-rated, 5 ATM water-resistant, and dive-proof up to 40 meters. So durability-wise, it’s pretty solid.

Likewise, if you’re looking for a smaller option, there’s a 41mm Huawei GT 6 variant designed for women specifically.
Display
The display is a 1.47-inch screen, and it’s very bright this time (3000 nits peak brightness vs 1200 nits peak brightness on the GT 5 series), responsive, it has fewer bezels, and is easy to read outdoors. It’s also protected by sapphire glass (hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale), and I haven’t noticed a single scratch so far. It still looks brand new.

Battery life is excellent, too. It easily lasts for 2 weeks if you’re not heavily using GPS.
Software
Let’s talk about the UI on the Huawei GT6 Pro. This year, it feels smoother and faster. It’s not running a heavy operating system like Apple or Google wear watches, but still, everything feels responsive and clean. There are also plenty of nice watch faces to choose from.
Another thing I really like is compatibility. It works with both iOS and Android, and I’m personally using it with my iPhone, with no issues at all.
Health Monitoring & Fitness
Now let’s talk about the health monitoring, because this is honestly where the Huawei Watch GT6 Pro really shines. As soon as I wake up, the watch gives me a bit of motivation, and also throughout the day to complete the activity ring.
You’ve got the three activity rings:
- Move
- Exercise
- Stand
Completing all three just gives you that extra push to stay active throughout the day. I usually start my day with a 15–20 minute walk before work, just to get moving and clear my head.
Likewise, the heart rate sensor is really good. It feels accurate during workouts and in daily use. The SpO₂ monitoring is also very precise and gives an hourly SP02 reading.

I’ve checked it multiple times, and both heart rate and SpO₂ readings have been reliable. There is also ECG support on the Pro variant, but in Nepal, you need to set the watch’s region to a supported location for ECG to work.

Another feature I really like is emotional well-being tracking. There are three modes: Pleasant, Neutral, and Unpleasant. The watch tracks your emotional state and stress levels, and if it detects higher stress, it actually suggests breathing exercises to help you calm down. This is something I genuinely appreciate - it’s not just about workouts, but also about mental well-being.

Health Insights - Beautifully provides weekly health insights. For example, my average Resting Heart rate this week was 63, which is nice, but athletes who do workouts every day have lower numbers (less than 60), which has motivated me to work toward that goal.
Workout Modes & Auto Detection
When it comes to workouts, there are a lot of workout modes available.
- Walking
- Running
- Cycling (there’s a new Pro-level outdoor cycling tracking)
- Hiking
- Golf (17,000+ Global Golf course map - Nepal also included)
- And many more
The auto-detection and auto-pause for walking and running work really well, but you can also manually start workouts like an outdoor walk or an outdoor run. For outdoor workouts, it shows: Heart rate zones (aerobic, anaerobic, etc.), Pace, Duration, Calories burned. I’ve done quite a few outdoor runs and walks recently, and the data breakdown has been really useful.

GPS & Route Tracking
If you’re someone who takes fitness seriously, Huawei claims that the GT6 and GT6 Pro have a new Ultra-precise 6-satellite positioning with Dual-band (L1 + L5) and a new antenna architecture, which means a faster GPS lock, better accuracy, and more reliable route tracking.

Trail Running Mode
Another new feature I really like on the Huawei Watch GT6 Pro is the trail-running mode, especially if you enjoy running on mountain trails, forest trails, or uneven terrain.

With the dual-band GPS, route tracking for professional runners is very accurate, even in challenging environments where GPS usually struggles. During and after your run, you can see detailed data like your route map, pace, distance, elevation gain, and heart-rate zones, which is extremely helpful for trail training and performance analysis.
GPX Files
Plus, you also get the ability to import GPX files. You can upload GPX routes directly to the watch and follow them during your run. This is perfect if you’re exploring new trails or following a planned route, as the watch keeps you on track without requiring constant phone checks. For trail runners, especially in remote areas, this adds an extra layer of confidence and safety.
The Huawei GT6 also provides real-time training insights, helping you understand how hard you’re pushing yourself across different terrains. Whether you’re climbing, descending, or running flat sections, the data is quite reliable and easy to understand.
Pro-level outdoor cycling tracking
For cyclists who train seriously, one important metric to talk about is FTP, aka Functional Threshold Power. In simple terms, FTP tells you the maximum power you can sustain for about an hour, and it’s the base for most structured cycling training.
FTP is measured using power meters attached to the bike, which can be paired directly with the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro. Instead of just looking at speed or distance, FTP helps you understand your actual effort - how hard your body is working during a ride.

Normally, measuring FTP properly can be quite cumbersome and is often done in lab environments. With the GT6 Pro, you can see power-based data directly on your wrist during real outdoor rides, which makes it far more practical for everyday training.
This helps professional and enthusiast cyclists train smarter, whether the goal is to build endurance, push harder on climbs, or prepare for race-day intensity.
Sleep Tracking
2026 is the year I really want to focus on my health, and honestly, good health starts with good sleep. With the Huawei GT6 and GT6 Pro, you can see the full breakdown - my deep sleep, REM sleep, and how many times I woke up during the night. Sleep quality isn’t just about how long you sleep - it’s about how well you sleep. Right now, my sleep score is 80-85 points, which is actually pretty good.

If you are not aware, Good deep sleep & Good REM sleep are the most important metrics for better sleep quality. Deep sleep helps your body recover physically, while REM sleep is crucial for mental recovery and focus.
Likewise, it also shows: Average SpO₂, Average respiratory rate, Average heart rate. All of this gives a really clear picture of whether your sleep quality was good or not. If you’re consistently not sleeping well, it can lead to things like high blood pressure and other heart-related issues, so this kind of detailed insight is actually very useful.
Honestly, the first thing you should work on when trying to get healthier is sleep. Another feature I really like is that if you’re struggling to sleep, you can use white noise or calming sounds directly from the app to help you fall asleep faster.
Huawei GT 6 and Huawei GT 6 Pro Review Conclusion:
So overall, I am really, really happy with Huawei’s latest smartwatches. From meaningful health tracking to daily motivation, excellent sleep analysis, and even support for emotional well-being, it genuinely covers everything you’d expect from a premium smartwatch. The fitness tracking is accurate, detailed, and actually useful in real life.

Likewise, the build quality is also top-tier, with a premium titanium frame and sapphire glass, which makes it both lightweight and very durable. And the battery life, honestly, this is one of its biggest advantages. Unlike Apple or Samsung smartwatches that last only for a day or two, this easily goes two weeks on a single charge. You don’t have to constantly worry about charging, and that makes a huge difference in daily use.
Hence, everything here just feels like an A+. It delivers exactly what you’d expect from a top-tier smartwatch. And honestly, this is why Huawei has become the world's number one smartwatch brand. This watch is a real example of just how good a smartwatch can be when it’s done right.
