Design

The design of the JBL TUNE 220TWS is similar to that of Apple’s AirPods. However, it comes with a rather cheap matte finish. It has an earbud design and weighs just 57 grams. So judging by its weight, it should not bug you or feel uncomfortable to wear. However, it’s completely made up of plastic. The charging box comes in a round pebble design and has an arc-shaped flip. The flip makes it easier to quickly remove the headphones.

Sound

JBL TUNE 220TWS comes with a 12mm driver and features JBL Pure Bass Sound. It is tuned by Harman Acoustic Engineers and offers low distortion with good precision reduction. Furthermore, it also features an array of double beamforming noise cancellation microphones to reduce ambient noise.

Controls

The right earbud acts as the master and can be used in a single mode. You can manually switch it on and off by long-pressing the button. Furthermore, the controls can also be used to answer/end calls and to activate voice assistant. Similarly, the controls on the left earbud let you change audio tracks. The earbuds, however, do not have a dedicated companion app for EQ settings.

Battery

JBL claims up to 3 hours of battery life on the TUNE 220TWS. You can further add 16 hours of juice with the charging case. However, it does not support wireless charging. Rather, it needs to be charged through a Micro USB cable and takes up to 2 hours to fully charge.
