Kandao QooCam 3 goes official with larger camera sensors

Kandao might not be the most popular name in the camera market. But this Chinese tech firm makes 3D stereoscopic VR and 360° cameras. Now, the Kandao QooCam 3 is official with two 1/1.55-inch sensors with 2μm pixel size. In this article, we’ll walk through the specs, features, and expected price of the Kandao QooCam 3 in Nepal.

The QooCam 3’s key USP becomes its 1/1.55-inch camera sensors. The combo is capable of capturing images with better quality and details. The bigger sensors come into play in low-light environments with a combined f/1.6 aperture. To compare, the Insta360 X3 and GoPro Max have f/1.9 and f/2.8 apertures respectively.

This camera can shoot up to 5.7K res 360° videos while going up to 62MP for panoramic stills. The stabilization is handled by a 6-axis gyroscope. You get a DNG8 mode accompanied by RAW+ software that can capture 8 files in a single frame and provide a merged output. Pair that with Kandao’s VR tech for enhanced image quality. Likewise, there is a 360° 4-channel spatial audio in Ambisonic format with dull-sphere surround support.
