Lenovo Legion Go S handheld will run Valve’s SteamOS as well as Windows 11!

SteamOS Integration

SteamOS is a Linux-based operating system developed by Valve Corporation (the company behind Steam) specifically optimized for gaming. The Lenovo Legion Go S will be the first third-party device to officially run SteamOS outside of Valve’s own Steam Deck. The Lenovo Legion Go S comes with two processor options: AMD Ryzen Z2 Go or the more powerful Ryzen Z1 Extreme. In terms of memory, it offers up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, paired with up to 1TB of PCIe Gen4 SSD storage.

For the battery, the Legion Go S is equipped with a 55.5Wh (3-cell) battery, a noticeable upgrade from the standard 49.2Wh (2-cell) battery found in the base Legion Go model. Additionally, it supports a 65W Type-C adapter with Rapid Charge support, which can charge the device from 0% to 85% in just an hour.

Moving on to connectivity, the device features two USB-4 ports with DisplayPort 1.4, Power Delivery 3.0, and a blazing 40Gbps speed. It also supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring lag-free gaming and smooth online experiences. Some additional features include the microSD card slot, audio jack, and dual 2W speakers round.
