
LG’s latest midrange earbuds — xboom Buds— are now official. It’s equipped with 10 mm graphene-coated drivers, and it’s created in collaboration with musician “will.i.am” from “Black Eyed Peas”. Design
The LG xboom buds come in black and white color options, and it has an in-ear design with ear hooks for a secure and comfortable fit. Each earbud weighs 5.3 grams, and it’s also IPX4-rated to protect against splashes of water.
You also get touch controls on the earbuds for everything from activating noise cancellation to answering calls. LG also lets you join others’ audio broadcasts on these earbuds, thanks to “Auracast” support. What’s interesting is that these earbuds even enable Auracast on mobile devices that don’t natively support it.
Audio and noise cancellation
In terms of audio, LG has collaborated with will.i.am to tune these earbuds for a richer, clearer, and immersive experience. The xboom Buds have 10mm graphene-coated drivers and support for AAC, SBC, and LC3 codecs. They support adaptive EQ to dynamically adjust the sound for the best sound reproduction, while users can further adjust the EQ using the “LG xboom Buds” app to their liking.
You can also connect these earbuds to two devices at once thanks to multipoint connection support. And when it comes to noise cancellation, the LG xboom buds can cancel out up to 35dB of low-frequency noises.

Microphone and call quality
Moving on, in terms of the microphone, you get triple MEMS (Micro-Electromechanical Systems) microphones on each earbud here. Out of them, the two beamforming mics are dedicated to voice pickup, while the other one is the inner ANC mic.
Battery
As for battery endurance, the xboom Buds run for up to 7.5/10 hours with ANC on/off. Whereas you can expect up to 30 hours of playback with the charging case when the ANC is turned off. Also, a quick charge of five minutes provides one hour of runtime, and the earbuds fully charge in an hour.
