Apple has officially introduced the AirPods 5 in two different versions, bringing active noise cancellation to its more affordable open-ear AirPods lineup. The new earbuds come with an updated acoustic architecture, Apple’s H2 chip, Adaptive EQ, Personalized Spatial Audio, and more. Unlike the AirPods Pro lineup, the AirPods 5 retain the familiar open-ear design without silicone ear tips. In this article, I will discuss this TWS in more detail, including the expected Apple AirPods 5 price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Apple AirPods 5 Overview

Design and Comfort

Starting off with the design, the AirPods 5 continue with Apple's familiar stem-style open-ear design. Each earbud weighs just 4.3 grams, while the standard charging case weighs 32.3 grams, making the overall package quite lightweight and easy to carry around. 

In terms of comfort, the AirPods 5 stick to an open-ear fit without silicone ear tips. This makes them a good option for users who do not like the plugged-in feeling of in-ear earbuds. In terms of compatibility, the AirPods 5 are clearly designed with the Apple ecosystem in mind. They work with iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and Apple TV, with features such as Spatial Audio and Siri integration working best with compatible Apple devices. You can also pair them with Android and other Bluetooth devices, but you won't get the same level of integration, and some Apple-specific features will be unavailable.

Battery and Connectivity

Talking about the battery, the standard AirPods 5 offer up to four hours of listening with ANC enabled, while the charging case takes the total playback time to around 20 hours. Additionally, a quick five-minute charge gives you about an hour of listening, which should be enough to get you through a commute or a few calls when you forget to charge them beforehand.

Interestingly, the AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case offers slightly better endurance, with up to five hours on a single charge with ANC and up to 22 hours with the case. The case can be charged through USB-C, an Apple Watch charger, or a Qi-certified wireless charger. Besides, it also has a built-in speaker that works with Find My, which can be useful if you tend to misplace the case.

As for connectivity, the AirPods 5 come with Bluetooth 5.3 and Apple’s H2 chip. Their combination should offer you a seamless switch between compatible Apple devices. If you already use an iPhone, Mac, or Apple Watch, it could be quite a visible advantage for you.

In the USA, the Apple AirPods 5 standard version is priced at USD 129 (INR 14,900), while the wireless charging case version costs USD 149 (INR 17,900). Although Apple has not confirmed its availability in Nepal, we expect it to arrive before Dashain in the 1st week of October. When this arrives here, we expect the Apple AirPods 5 price in Nepal to start at NPR 25,500.
