Motorola’s brought back the Moto G Play lineup after skipping 2025 entirely. The Moto G Play (2026) is the more affordable option in this year’s budget lineup (launched alongside the slightly expensive Moto G (2026). Now, let’s jump in this article, where I will discuss everything about the latest Moto G Play (2026), including its price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Moto G Play (2026) Overview

Display and Design

Moto G Play 2026 Design

The Moto G Play (2026) shares the same 6.7-inch HD+ LCD screen as its pricier sibling. You’re getting the same 120Hz refresh rate and 1604 × 720 pixel resolution, and the screen can also hit 1000 nits of peak brightness and has been provided by a Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Design-wise, it’s identical to the regular Moto G. Same vegan leather back, same 167.15 × 76.40 × 8.44mm dimensions, same 202g weight. It’s IP52 rated for basic dust and splash resistance. The only visual difference is that it comes in just one color—Tapestry, which is a teal shade.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, it’s running the same MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip as the regular Moto G. You get 4GB of RAM and your choice of 128GB or 256GB storage, with microSD expansion up to 1TB available. The phone ships with Android 16 and Motorola’s My UX interface. So what exactly is changed? Well, that comes tothe  Camera (and also the price).

Camera Setup

So the most cost-cutting becomes obvious here. The Moto G Play (2026) has a single 32MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture. No secondary lens, no macro camera, just one sensor doing all the work. The front camera is an 8MP shooter with an f/2.0 aperture.

Compare that to the regular Moto G (2026), which has a 50MP main camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a 32MP selfie camera. If you care about photo “quality” at all, the extra money could perhaps be worth it.

Battery and Charging

The battery capacity is the same 5,200mAh as the regular Moto G, which should get you through a full day easily. But the catch is that, the charging is capped at 18W instead of 30W.  Similarly, the audio features are identical to the regular model: stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Connectivity

The connectivity options are the same across both models. You get 5G support (SA and NSA), dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and USB-C. There’s dual SIM support with one physical nano SIM slot, eSIM capability, and a dedicated microSD card slot. The side-mounted fingerprint scanner is also present for quick unlocking.
