This phone brings a powerful processor and a big battery to the midrange segment.

OnePlus is finally here with its new Nord 6, which is actually just a rebrand of the OnePlus Turbo 6 that launched earlier in China. Like the previous model in the Nord series, OnePlus has also targeted performance-centric users this time by shipping this thing with a powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip, alongside a massive 9000mAh battery. In this article, I will discuss everything, including the expected price of the OnePlus Nord 6 in Nepal.
OnePlus Nord 6 Overview
Design and Display
Starting with design, the OnePlus Nord 6 is built slim with an all-plastic frame and back. There’s a square-shaped camera module at the back, which houses its dual camera setup and an LED flash. It weighs around 217 grams, which is slightly heavier than the OnePlus Nord 5, which weighed 6 grams less. This phone has a pretty good X-axis vibration motor, similar to what we’ve seen in newer midrange phones from Poco and iQOO.
And as far as durability is concerned, the OnePlus Nord 6 comes with a full suite of ingress protections, including IP66, IP68, IP69, IP68K, and IP69K ratings. Likewise, it’s available in White, Black, or Mint finishes.
Moving to the display, the OnePlus Nord 6 offers a large 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with high PWM dimming that protects your eyes when you use the device for hours at a time. With a fast 165Hz refresh rate like the premium OnePlus 15, OnePlus is the only brand I can think of to offer such a smooth display in this price segment.

And to round out the display experience, the Nord 6 gets perfectly bright for a comfortable viewing experience, no matter where you are. Thanks to its 1,800-nit peak brightness. There’s also an optical fingerprint sensor hidden inside the screen, but at this price point, an ultrasonic one would’ve been a better pick.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the OnePlus Nord 6 uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC that’s built on a 4nm process. We’ve seen this chip in action on a bunch of phones already, like the Nothing Phone 3. It scores over 2.5 million in AnTuTu, and you can expect a decent performance bump over Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 on the OnePlus Nord 5. More importantly, the Nord 6 can play popular games like PUBG and BGMI at a stable 165 fps, according to OnePlus. It also has the same G2 WiFi chip that made its debut on the OnePlus 15.
Moreover, this phone comes with up to 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage and 12/16GB LPDDR5X RAM. The OnePlus Nord 6 runs on OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, which brings smooth animation and a refined software experience overall. What’s interesting is that OnePlus has also promised to offer 4 major long term Andriod updates and up to 6 years of security updates.

Camera and Battery
We found only the optics to be the major trade-off in the OnePlus Nord 6. It’s got a 50MP primary sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide sensor, alongside a color spectrum sensor. Based on our experience, we’re expecting its main camera to perform quite well in ideal conditions, but not much from its ultrawide shooter. What’s worse is that OnePlus has also downgraded the front camera’s resolution from 50MP on its predecessor to a 32MP unit this time.

Moving to the battery, you get a massive 9,000mAh pack in the OnePlus Nord 6. Which is roughly 32% larger compared to the 6,800 mAh battery on last year’s Nord 5. The charging speed has remained the same at 80W, although the other major addition this time is its 55W PPS charging support and 27W of reverse-wired charging. Interestingly, OnePlus has included the charger in the box for the Indian market, while the Nord 6 doesn’t ship with one elsewhere.
