Moto Watch Ultra goes official with Wear OS and 550 mAh battery !

Motorola has unveiled the Moto Watch Ultra at IFA 2026, bringing its smartwatch lineup back to Google’s Wear OS platform. It also marks a shift from the regular Moto Watch, which uses Motorola’s proprietary software and focuses more on long battery life.

The new Ultra instead takes a more premium approach, with a focus on smart features, health tracking, and standalone connectivity. So, here’s everything you need to know about the Moto Watch Ultra.

Moto Watch Ultra Overview

Design and Build

The Moto Watch Ultra comes in a 46mm stainless steel case with a round design, weighing 51 grams and measuring 12mm thick. The case is available in black and silver, while the straps come in different color options, including Black Beauty, Mountain View, and Nuthatch. It supports both silicone and leather straps.

The watch also has IP68 dust and water resistance, 5ATM water resistance, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It uses standard 22mm bands, making them easy to replace.

Display

The Moto Watch Ultra features a 1.5-inch pOLED display with a peak brightness of up to 2,700 nits. The OLED panel delivers deep blacks and high contrast, while the high brightness should make the screen easier to see outdoors.

Performance

Under the hood, the Moto Watch Ultra is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, providing space for apps, music, and other smartwatch content.

Health and Fitness Tracking

The smartwatch brings Polar-powered health and fitness tracking, including continuous heart-rate monitoring, blood oxygen (SpO₂), sleep and stress tracking, and recovery insights.

It also supports features such as Polar Nightly Recharge, Sleep Plus Stages, Serene, and an AI Running Coach, giving users more detailed insights into their daily activity, sleep, and workouts.

Smart Features and Software

Unlike the regular Moto Watch, the Moto Watch Ultra runs Google’s Wear OS 6. This brings access to the Google Play Store, along with features such as Google Wallet, Gemini, and Motorola’s Qira AI assistant.

With Wear OS, users can also access a wider range of third-party apps and interact with notifications, calls, and messages directly from the watch.

Connectivity

The Moto Watch Ultra supports LTE through an eSIM, allowing users to make calls, send messages, and receive notifications without keeping their phone nearby. It also features dual-band GPS for more accurate location tracking, along with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC connectivity.

Battery Life

The Moto Watch Ultra packs a 550mAh battery that delivers up to two days of active use. Motorola also claims that a 15-minute charge can provide up to 24 hours of use, making quick top-ups more convenient.

The Moto Watch Ultra starts at €429 in Europe and will roll out to select markets across Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, North America, and Asia-Pacific in the coming weeks. Motorola has not announced its Nepal availability or pricing yet. If it launches here, we can expect the price to start at around NPR 75,699.
