Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy A27, expanding its Galaxy A series lineup as the successor to the Samsung Galaxy A26. As expected, this phone comes with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, while the optics come with both upgrades and downgrades. In this article, I will discuss Samsung's new mid-range phone, including the expected price of the Samsung Galaxy A27 in Nepal, its specifications, and its availability.

Familiar Display

Starting off, the Samsung Galaxy A27 has a plastic frame and a glass back, and weighs 200 grams. Here, it also maintains the slim profile of around 7.8 mm. Also, the back of the panel features a vertical camera island setup, whereas the waterdrop notch we saw on the Samsung Galaxy A26 is replaced by a punch-hole.

However, you only get an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, which is lower than its predecessor's IP67 rating. And you get to choose between “Light Pink”, “Blue”, “Light Green”, and “Black” finishes.

For the display, the Samsung Galaxy A27 retains a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution, delivering a decent visual experience for content. To offer a smooth scrolling experience, this device also comes with a 120Hz refresh rate. While most of the Galaxy A27's display details are similar to its predecessor's, it drops the Mosh level 5 protection that we saw in the Galaxy A26.

Upgraded performance

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy A27 drops the Samsung Exynos 1380 chip in favor of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC built on a 4nm process for better performance. Here, this chip is 2 years old, so this might not be the best choice for the premium budget phone. With this new chip, you might not notice the thermal inconsistency that used to arrive in the Galaxy A26 during multitasking and continuous use. You can also expect decent gaming performance for titles like PUBG, CODM, and Free Fire in medium graphics settings.

Memory-wise, the Samsung Galaxy A27 comes with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. On the software side, this device runs on One UI 8.5 on top of Android 16. Like its predecessor, this phone also gets up to 6 major Android upgrades.

Camera Setup

In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy A27 uses a similar setup to its predecessor, but with a slight change in the number. The back setup has the same triple-camera setup as the front, with a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 5MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP macro unit. And for the front, the device features a 12MP sensor for video calls and selfies. Since it has OIS, you can at least expect better video stabilization and low-light photography from this phone.

However, the Samsung Galaxy A27 retains the same 5000mAh battery capacity as the previous model and supports 25W fast charging. With this charging support, the device can charge up to 45% within 30 minutes. Similarly, it has Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless connectivity alongside Wi-Fi 5.

If it arrives here, we expect the Galaxy A27 price in Nepal to start at NPR 54,999.
