Oppo A6 Pro 5G launched in India with 7,000mAh battery and IP69 rating

Oppo has launched the A6 Pro 5G in India. Which might shock you a little, because Oppo has already launched an A6 Pro 5G a while ago. However, this is an indian variant, which differs from what we got earlier. Oppo A6 Pro 5G Overview

Design and Display

Design-wise, it has no difference with the 4G variant, but significantly differs with the other 5G variant. Anyway, this A6 Pro 5G measures 8.6mm thick and weighs 216g. It carries IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, meaning it's dust and splash proof, waterproof up to 1.5m for 30 minutes, and resistant to hot water jets. 

The A6 Pro 5G features a 6.75-inch LCD display with 720 x 1,520 px resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Which, to be honest, is a fairly low resolution for a screen this large. Its pixel density sits around only at 260 ppi. But the display supports 8-bit color with 100% sRGB coverage, 900 nits standard brightness, and 1,125 nits HBM.

In contrast, if you look at the global Oppo A6 Pro, it uses a 6.57-inch 1080p+ OLED display, so the India variant is a downgrade on the screen front. 

Performance

The A6 Pro 5G runs on the budget MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There's also a microSD slot for expandable storage. If you do not know, the Dimensity 6300 is an entry-level 5G chip, so the performance is not going to be that interesting to say the least.

Camera System

The rear camera setup is also very basic. It includes a typical 50MP main sensor and a 2MP helper module. For video recording, it maxes out at 1080p @ 60fps. Similarly, the front camera is 16MP and shoots 1080p @ 30fps. 

Battery and Charging

It features a large 7,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging (33W PPS), but considering Honor recently dropped a 10,000mAh phone, nothing about it would look very enticing to anyone anymore.

Connectivity

Since its particularly a ‘5G’ phone, its connectivity support is going to be 5G alongside Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX HD and LDAC support. But there's no NFC.

The Oppo A6 Pro 5G is available now from the Oppo online store in India. The 8GB/128GB model is priced at INR 22,000, while the 8GB/256GB model costs INR 24,000. If it ever makes it here, expect its starting price in Nepal to be no less than NPR 34,999.
