OPPO K14x 5G Launched in India with Dimensity 6300 SoC

OPPO has launched the K14x 5G in India, adding a brand new option to the lesser-known K-series lineup. The company was rumored to release the K14, but instead silently released the K14x. The device comes with a 120Hz display, a big battery, and the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. Display and Design

The K14x has a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Its peak brightness reaches 1,125 nits. The budget phone comes in two colors, Icy Blue and Prism Violet, both with a textured back that gives a slightly reflective finish. It also carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. The design keeps the front mostly clean, with a punch-hole for the front camera.

Performance and Software

The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and comes with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM alongside 128GB of internal storage. The OPPO includes ColorOS 15 on top of Android 16. Similarly, It also supports RAM expansion, and AI GameBoost 2.0, which is supposed to keep apps and games running smoothly under loads even with such a budget chipset. The software package has features like AI LinkBoost 3.0 that optimize network performance for calls or gameplay in areas with weak coverage.

Camera and Battery

On the camera side, the K14x has a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor on the rear. However, video recording is capped at 1080p 60fps. On the other side, the front camera is 5MP. 

Despite having average specifications on most parts, they have gone a different route on battery. One of the best things about the device is its 6,500mAh battery, which charges with a big 45W wired fast charger and supports reverse wired charging. OPPO has also mentioned a fluency protection system that will make sure the phone stays responsive over the long term.

The K14x supports 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Other than that, OPPO has included AI-powered camera tools such as AI Portrait Retouching, AI Perfect Shot, AI Recompose, and AI Eraser 2.0. Outdoor Mode 2.0 and GloveTouch, which make the screen responsive in various conditions. And by the way, it also features a theft detection feature, that allow you to lock the device remotely if stolen.

Oppo K14x 5G is official in India and starts at INR 14,999 for the base trim. If it ever makes it here, we expect its price in Nepal to start at no less than NPR 25,999. 

Should you buy the OPPO K14x 5G in Nepal?

The phone isn’t available in Nepal yet. If it launches, we can make a case for people who want a large battery, basic 5G support, and long-term fluency on a budget. But it is completely useless if you are looking for a gaming phone or something that can be of use for photography. Alternatives such as the Samsung Galaxy A07 or the Redmi 15 may offer better features at similar prices.
