Oppo Reno 12 officially launched with the latest Dimensity 8250 Star Editon

Not long after releasing their flagship-level phone, the Oppo Find X7 Ultra, which secured the top spot in DXOMARK’s camera ranking and became one of the few phones to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset, the Chinese company has launched a new series that features two phones that comes with almost flagship-level specifications. But in this article, we will discuss the Reno 12 in particular, which is more of a mid-range than a flagship. So, let’s dive into the specifics of the Oppo Reno 12, including its expected price in Nepal and Availability.

Oppo Reno 12 Overview

Design and Display

The Oppo Reno 12 has a thickness of 7.25gmam and weighs only 179 grams, falling into the lightweight category. Simply on the design side, the smartphone comes in three colors, with both glass on the front on the back with plastic frames. Moreover, the Reno 12 is also IP65-rated for dust and water protection.

On the display front, you get a nice 6.7-inch AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone can achieve a peak brightness of 1200 nits and also supports HDR10+.  Moreover, it has a resolution of 2412*1080 with 394 ppi.  Similarly, it also comes with an in-screen fingerprint scanner and NFC support. However, it doesn’t feature a stereo speaker.

Camera and Battery

The Oppo Reno 12 features a triple camera setup with a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main camera with OIS support and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Just like its sibling, it also features a 50MP 2X telephoto camera which features a Samsung JN5 sensor. Meanwhile, for selfies and video support, you also get a 50MP front camera with autofocus.

Performance and Storage

While, the Reno 11 and Reno 11 Pro were powered by the Dimensity 8200 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipsets respectively, the Reno 12 runs on the newly unveiled Dimensity 8250 Star edition. It is accompanied by LPPDDR5X memory up to 16GB and UFS 3.1 storage up to 512GB.
