OPPO has introduced the Reno15 in China, which is a new iterative upgrade of the usual Reno series, but this around substantially improves in cameras and ditches the big phone factor for a more compact design compared to its predecessor. Now, let's jump into this article, where I will discuss everything about the latest OPPO Reno15, including its rumoured price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

      OPPO Reno15 Overview

      Display and Design

      undefined

The Reno15 features a 6.32-inch flat AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution (2640 × 1216 pixels). It's smaller than the Reno14's 6.59-inch screen, but OPPO has packed in noticable upgrades here. The display reaches up to 3600 nits of local peak brightness, which is a massive jump from the Reno14's 1200 nits. You'll also get 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming to reduce eye strain, and the screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate with 240Hz touch sampling rate. OPPO has kept the bezels 'ultra-narrow' at just 1.15mm and added Crystal Shield Glass protection. The phone carries IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

OPPO has upgraded the build quality with new cold-carved glass and a starlight mirror structure, along with a refined textured metal frame. Similarly, the phone comes in three colors: Starlight, Aurora Blue, and Canelé Brown. The Starlight variant uses 'holographic lithography' with a bow design on the back that appears to dance when you rotate the phone. It's made with high-gloss ice-clear glass that's transparent and fingerprint-resistant. The phone measures 7.99mm for the Brown and Starlight variants, while the Aurora Blue version is slightly thicker at 8.13mm. It weighs 187g for Brown and Starlight, and 188g for Aurora Blue.

      Performance and Software

Now talking about the performance, you will not be getting any substantial improvements here as OPPO has equipped the Reno15 with the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 processor, which is an upgrade from the Reno14's Dimensity 8350. But if one were to look into the performance difference, how incremental the performance leap really is.

But this is not to say that the Dimensity 8450 is a weak chipset. Indeed, it's a very decent one built on a 4nm architecture and features an octa-core CPU that can reach up to 3.25GHz. You can easily expect decent gaming performance from this guy. Oppo had also previously used Dimensity 8450 in the Oppo K13 Turbo, which launched back in August.

Similarly, you'll get up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage. OPPO has also included its Nano Ice Crystal Heat Dissipation system to keep the phone cool at all times. The phone runs on Android 16 with ColorOS 16 out of the box.

      Camera System

      undefined

Coming to talk about optics, I think here the Reno15 really shines with some major upgrades across all sensors. The main camera now uses a 200MP sensor (1/1.56″) with f/1.8 aperture and OIS. This is a huge jump from the Reno14's 50MP main camera. The ultra-wide camera has also been upgraded from 8MP to 50MP with a 112° field of view and f/2.2 aperture. OPPO has kept the 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5X optical zoom, but it now includes OIS and an f/2.8 aperture for better stabilization. All rear cameras can shoot 4K video at 60fps. The front camera remains at 50MP with f/2.0 aperture, but it now supports 4K 60fps video recording. The Reno14 could only do 1080p or 4K at 30fps.

      Battery and Charging

The battery you are getting here is also quite decent. But in my opinion, its still a low bar, considering the Reno15 *only* packs a 6200mAh battery, which is 200mAh larger than the Reno14's 6000mAh cell. It is fair enough not to applaud the Reno 15 for its battery, because most Chinese smartphones are going bonkers with 8000mAh batteries. But anyway, you are still getting 80W SuperVOOC fast charging support, which is the same as before. OPPO hasn't included wireless charging on the standard Reno15 model. That feature is reserved for the Pro version.

      Additional Features

You'll get an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, USB Type-C audio support, and an infrared sensor. The Reno14 had basic speakers, so the stereo setup is a welcome addition. For connectivity, the Reno15 supports 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), and Bluetooth 5.4.
