POCO F7 launched in India with upgraded chipset, joining F7 Ultra and Pro

The POCO F7 is now officially available in India and globally. While the F7 Ultra and F7 Pro have been on the market for some time, showcasing powerful hardware, the vanilla POCO F7 has arrived with a newer chipset. It is not as powerful as the 8 Elite, but it is an upgraded version of last year’s 8s Gen 3. POCO F7 Overview

Design and Display

The Indian variant is 7.98 mm thick and weighs 222 grams, while the global version is slightly thicker and lighter. It has a glass front and back with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and an aluminum frame. The device carries IP66, IP68, and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings, allowing immersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. It supports dual nano-SIM cards. The POCO F7 comes in Cyber Silver, Frost White, and Phantom Black.

The POCO F7 features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (1280 x 2772 pixels) and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and has a peak brightness of 3200 nits. The screen also supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, with a high touch sampling rate and PWM dimming for smooth use.

Performance

It runs on Android 15 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0, and the company promises four years of major OS updates and six years of security patches. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset built on 4 nm technology. The CPU has an octa-core setup with a Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at 3.21 GHz. The GPU is an Adreno 825. RAM options go up to 12GB, and storage is available in 256GB and 512GB UFS 4.1 configurations, with no expandable storage slot.

The POCO F7 uses a 6,000 mm² vapor cooling chamber and a 3D IceLoop system with AI-backed temperature control. It also features WildBoost Optimization 3.0 to enhance gaming performance.

Cameras

The rear cameras include a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor with f/1.5 aperture, OIS, and a secondary 8MP ultrawide lens. The phone supports 4K video recording at 30 and 60 fps and slow-motion video up to 960 fps. The front camera is 20MP with HDR support and can record 1080p video.

Audio and Sensors

The POCO F7 offers dual stereo speakers and supports 24-bit/192kHz Hi-Res audio, including wireless Hi-Res audio. It lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Indian variant packs a 7,550 mAh battery, while the global version has 6,500 mAh. It supports 90W wired fast charging, capable of charging up to 80% in about 30 minutes. It also supports 22.5W reverse wired charging.
