Poco M6 launched again, this time as a 4G-only phone

Poco launched the M6 5G near the end of last year. The company also launched two Pro models under the series at different times which included a 4G and a 5G variants. Now, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has taken the same route for the base M6 phones and launched a 4G-only model. Let's take a deeper look at the Poco M6 4G and also discuss its potential price in Nepal.

Poco M6 4G Overview

Design and Display

In terms of design, you are looking at a spitting image of the Poco M6 Pro 4G. Given that, it comes in flat frames, a dual-tone finish, and three bumps enclosing two cameras and an LED flash. The company has slapped a glass on the back to offer a rather premium feel to the phone. The Poco M6 4G is available in Black, Purple, and Silver colourways. On the front, you are looking at a 6.79-inch LCD panel that stretches FHD+ in resolution. Additionally, it offers up to 90Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 550 nits, and a DC dimming feature for a comfortable viewing experience.

Performance

The performance on the Poco M6 4G is driven by the MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra chipset. This silicon is built on a 12nm process, has eight cores, and clocks in at a maximum of 2.0GHz. Moreover, it is a relatively new processor that is ideal for less power-demanding users. In addition, this phone comes in two different configurations. The lower one is a combination of 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, while the higher one has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. You can further expand the storage on the Poco M6 4G by up to 1TB with the help of a microSD card. This phone also supports virtual memory expansion, but it is barely a relevant feature.

Camera and the rest

The Poco M6 4G packs three cameras altogether, two of which sit at the back. The rear cameras include a large 108MP primary unit coupled with a measly 2MP macro shooter. The latter one is a space filler for the most part as it does not have much usability. Meanwhile, on the front, you have a 13MP shooter sitting underneath the hole-punch cutout. This smartphone draws its power from a 5,030 mAh battery which also supports 33W of wired fast charging. The fingerprint sensor on the Poco M6 4G sits on the side integrated within the power button. Likewise, for wireless connectivity, it comes with dual SIM (hybrid slot) with 4G cellular, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth v5.4, and an optional choice for NFC support. On the other hand, wired connections include a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Poco M6 4G Price in Nepal and Availability

The company listed this smartphone on their website a few days prior. However, the official launch will be held on 11 June 2024. The pricing of the phone has also been revealed where it starts at USD 129 and goes up to USD 149. Based on that, when it arrives here in Nepal, we expect the Poco M6 4G price in Nepal to start at NPR 20,999.
