Design and Display

The new Spin has a modern design with minimal bezels. Being a 2-in-1, it can also fold on itself to be used like a tablet. The left side features a retractable stylus that you can use to navigate the interface. Moreover, it is relatively compact, weighing about 2 kg.   Moving on to the display, it's a 14-inch WUXGA IPS panel. The 1920x1200 resolution paired with the 16:10 aspect ratio makes for an enjoyable viewing experience. Similarly, the 60Hz touch screen has multi-touch and AES pen support for workflows requiring stylus input.

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, the new Acer Spin 5 (2023) is powered by a 13th Gen Intel i7-1355U processor. This 10 Core (2P + 8E) 12 Thread CPU has boost clock frequencies of 5 GHz and 3.7 GHz for the efficiency and performance cores, respectively. Furthermore, it is complemented by Intel’s integrated Iris Xe Graphics with 96 Execution Units (EU) at 1.3 GHz (max).  Moving on to memory,  you get 16GB of DDR4 RAM alongside a 512GB M.2 SSD. As for the OS, the laptop boots on Windows 11 Home out of the box. 

Battery and Connectivity

The new Spin 5 (2023) features a 50Wh 4-cell Lithium battery. You can charge it via the included 65W Type-C adapter. For wired connections, you get one USB Type-C USB 4 port, two USB Type-A ports, and an HDMI port.
