      Pixel 7a Overview:

Google has recently launched the Pixel 7a, a successor to the Pixel 6a (review) and a cheaper alternative to the Pixel 7 (review). The phone offers a lot of value for money, as it shares many features with the flagship Pixel 7, but costs USD 100 less in the US or INR 12,000 less in India. Let us review some of the key aspects of the new Google Pixel 7a.

      Design and Display

Pixel 7a has a similar design to the Pixel 6a, with a glass front, a plastic back, and an aluminum frame. It also retains the IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. You get four color options: Charcoal, Sea, Coral, and Snow.

Google Pixel 7a Price in Nepal Specifications Where to buy
The phone has a 6.1-inch OLED display with an FHD resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It supports HDR and has a refresh rate of 90Hz, which makes it smoother and more responsive than the 60Hz display of the Pixel 6a. It is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

      Performance

Powering the Pixel 7a is the Google Tensor G2 (5nm); the same chipset that runs on the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro. It has an octa-core CPU with two Cortex-X1 cores clocked at 2.85 GHz, two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.35 GHz, and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The GPU of choice here is Mali-G710 MP7. As for the memory configuration, it comes with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone boots on Android 13, which is the latest version of Google's operating system. It also benefits from Google's promise of 5 years of security and 3 years of OS updates.

      Battery and Charging

Google Pixel 7a gets its juice from a 4385mAh battery that supports up to 18W wired charging and up to 7.5W wireless charging. This is another upgrade from the Pixel 6a, which had no wireless charging support. Pixel 7a's USB Type-C 3.2 port supports USB Power Delivery (PD) 3.0 too.

      Camera

      Google Pixel 7a - Cameras
This phone's camera setup has been thoroughly revamped compared to Pixel 6a. Instead of dual 12MP sensors at the back, Pixel 7a uses a 64MP f/1.8 main sensor with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and optical image stabilization (OIS). Whereas its secondary rear camera is a 13MP ultra-wide sensor with a 120° FoV. The front camera has also been bumped from 8MP to a 13MP unit.
