      POCO X8 Pro Max Overview

      Design and Display

The POCO X8 Pro features a 6.83-inch 120Hz OLED display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling. It also has a 3840Hz PWM dimming with peak brightness up to 3500 nits for eye comfort and outdoor use. Display is not only bright but also extremely color-accurate. Colors look natural, and even when pushed hard with fast-motion games, the screen response felt snappy and smooth.

On the design side, the glass front, aluminum frame, and glass back give it a solid feel, around 8.2mm thick, and the IP68/IP69K rating adds peace of mind for dust or accidental splashes. The device looks minimal yet premium. And there’s a fun little touch here: you get RGB lights around the camera module. The company is also including an IP68/IP69K rating for superior protection against dust and water.

      Performance

Under the hood, the X8 Pro Max runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s with the Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU, paired with 12GB RAM and 256/512GB storage. Even the games run without stutter, even with demanding titles played back-to-back, and the FPS stays stable, thermals remain controlled, and the phone never feels sluggish. Multitasking between apps, switching between YouTube, Instagram, and games, feels instantaneous thanks to the large RAM and fast storage. Similarly, it runs on Android 16 with HyperOS 3, which has tons of customization features.

      Cameras

The cameras are nothing extraordinary here. It includes a dual-camera setup with a 50MP sensor and an 8MP ultrawide shooter on the back. They handle daylight shots well — colors are vibrant, and details are sharp. Portraits are okay but not extraordinary, and low-light performance is average. Selfies sometimes come out a bit contrasty, but it’s enough for casual use or social media posting. Upfront, there is a 20MP sensor that supports 1080p at 60 fps video recording.  And the selfies are also just average.

      Battery and Rest

Poco has upgraded the battery capacity to 8500 mAh for the global variant, whereas the Indian variant gets a massive 9000mAh battery. We also get an upgraded 100W wired charging that fast-charges the phone from 0 to 100% in less than an hour.

Extras include an optical fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 6, an IR blaster, and stereo speakers.
