POCO: Brand Overview
POCO is a sub-brand of Xiaomi that specializes in smartphones. Since their initial team inside Xiaomi was small, they decided to name the brand "Poco" which means "a little" in Spanish. They launched their first smartphone in 2018 with Poco F1 which became an instant international hit.
POCO became an "independent" brand in November 2020. But still sells rebranded Redmi phones as "new" POCO devices. One thing to note is that "POCO India" has a different logo, mascot, and slogan than the global brand.
POCO in Nepal
POCO entered the Nepali market with its F1 phone, which quickly became popular, making POCO a beloved name among smartphone enthusiasts. It became an independent brand in 2020, officially returning to Nepal that year with the POCO C3, M2, and X3.
POCO then disappeared from the Nepali market in 2023, before making a comeback in 2026 with a refreshed lineup, including the F8 Pro, X8 Pro, X8 Pro Max, M8s, and M8 Pro. Distribution runs through the same network as Xiaomi, Vatsal Impex inside Kathmandu Valley, and Teledirect everywhere else, with pricing across the lineup remaining competitive.
