Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus Overview
Design and Display
The S26+ measures 158.4 × 75.8 × 7.3mm and weighs 190 grams. It's slightly thinner than its predecessor. The extra screen real estate you get over the base S26 is also definitely noticeable in daily use. Design-wise, the S26+ shares the same unified language as the rest of the S26 family this year — softer corners, flatter edges, and the new Ambient Island camera module on the back. That translucent rectangular island that unifies the lenses is much cleaner. The frame is Armor Aluminum on the front, and the back is Gorilla Glass Victus 2, with IP68. Colors are the same across the series: Cobalt Violet, Sky Blue, Black, and White, with Silver Shadow and Pink Gold as Samsung.com exclusives.
The display is a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with QHD+ resolution (3120 × 1440), and this is actually a notable step up over the base S26, which stays at FHD+. At this screen size, QHD+ makes a visible difference, particularly for media-related stuff and any fine-detail work. The panel hits up to 2,600 nits peak brightness, runs an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate, and carries Samsung's upgraded mDNIe processor for 4× better color precision over the S25+. ProScaler AI upscaling is here too, sharpening video and image content in real time.
Chipset and Performance
Chipset situation mirrors the base S26, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy in the US and China, Exynos 2600 everywhere else. The S26+ running Exynos 2600 in most global markets, including Nepal, is definitely unfortunate. Samsung's own figures for the Plus specifically show a 38% faster NPU, 23% improved GPU, and 7% faster CPU compared to the S25+. And Exynos has barely been able to impress anyone. The redesigned vapor chamber and updated thermal interface material contribute to up to 29% better heat dissipation. Similarly, all configurations come with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM. Storage also starts at 256GB, with a 512GB option available.
Cameras
The S26+ shares its camera hardware with the base S26. You get the same 50MP f/1.8 main with OIS, 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide, and 10MP f/2.4 3x telephoto — and the same software-driven improvements apply across both. The ProVisual Engine processing, Nightography Video overhaul, Horizontal Lock in Super Steady mode, and the AI ISP refinements on the 12MP f/2.2 selfie camera are all present and identical to what you'd find on the S26. Nightography Video has been meaningfully improved with per-sensor noise reduction, producing low-light footage that's brighter and cleaner than the S25+ was capable of. Similarly, video maxes out at 8K@30fps and 4K@60fps with 10-bit HDR.
Battery and Charging
Other than display, this is another place where the S26+ earns its keep over the base S26. The battery steps up to 4,900mAh, compared to 4,300mAh on the standard S26, and Samsung claims up to 31 hours of video playback.
Charging also takes a step forward. The S26+ supports up to 45W wired charging, hitting around 69% in approximately 30 minutes. Which is a noticeable upgrade over the base S26's 25W, and it closes the gap somewhat with faster-charging competitors. Wireless charging comes in at 20W, and reverse wireless at 4.5W rounds things out.
Software and Galaxy A
The Galaxy S26 Plus, like the entire S26 series, also comes with One UI 8.5 on Android 16, with the full seven-year OS and security update commitment. Everything on the AI front is identical to what the S26 and Ultra offer — Now Nudge, Now Brief, Photo Assist, Creative Studio, Audio Eraser in third-party apps, Call Screening with Scam Detection, upgraded Bixby with Gemini and Perplexity integration, and Circle to Search with multi-object support. The S26+ doesn't get the Privacy Display but it doesn't lose a single Galaxy AI feature compared to the Ultra.
Connectivity and Audio
It also comes with the full connectivity suite: 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, UWB (Ultra-Wideband), and USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 with OTG. UWB is worth a specific mention; it enables precise spatial awareness for features like device finding and secure proximity-based sharing, and it's not always present on every mid-to-upper-tier phone. The S26+ has it. Audio is stereo speakers with high-bitrate format support, MP3, FLAC, AAC, and more.
The device features an Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, the same as the rest of the S26 series. Similarly, you also get the Knox Vault, like usual that handles on-device processing and sensitive data storage.
